While Rose had went on the record saying that he wasn’t going recruit Anthony to Chicago, he was very involved in the team’s courtship of the superstar free agent, according to sources close to the situation. While at the practice facility, sources say that Rose went through a private workout to show Anthony that he’s healthy and ready to compete at a high level next season.

man that seems kinda awkward to me. were they all standing around watching rose play? hope that isnt true, or that it played out differently then it did in my imagination.

I wouldn't be too worried. The Bulls know how to court free agents. Lebron's treatment got rave reviews in '10.

But before you say "Lebron didn't come here", remember Lebron only gets to go one place.

Bah Phil won over Steve Kerr. He is golden.

Rose did come out of the UC with a pair of shoes in his hand, but, at last report, practice facility was still two months away from being completed. 4 weeks ago, the hoops, floor, and work out areas looked far from completion.

No they can't. Will take more than just trading Lin.

Their cap number will be around $41MM if they trade Lin. Then you throw in various cap holds which I'm guessing is around $4MM. That puts them about $16MM below the cap. They can still open up about $2-4MM by dumping Jones and Donatas. It won't be hard for them to offer Melo close to $20MM a year. Morey has been saying for a while that they can open up enough space to get close to the max and they easily can after the asik trade

So they need to do more than trade Lin just to get 'close' to a max. That's what I thought.

Do you think it will take any effort to trade two upside players on rookie deals? Lin is the only hurdle to a max deal but if you want to get specific yes without a Knicks sign and trade they will have to move two ridiculously easy to move players

A] Melo should sign with the Bulls, Mavs or Rockets. With the Bulls being by far the best option of the three.
B] Rondo will never end up a Knick, he a awful fit for the triangle offense. Phil will keep the cap space and try to make a run at KD in 2016.

That contract takes NY out of play as a serious contender in the East for the next 5 years.

Go Knicks!

Agree mostly. They are NYK. That being said if D Rose was 100% healthy we are a slam dunk. No one knows with that kid though.

They said Rose was there at 9 so it might've been planned and he was working out before Melo got there.

Man.

Suiting up and proving your health to a free agent has got to be a blow to the pride.

Good for you, D-Rose. Bravo.
