I'm hope everyone starts loving Derrick again now lol.

People have been so hard on him the last few years.

To me it sounds more like Derrick was already there doing a rehab session workout and Melo was there is see some of it. I don't think it was necessarily Melo forced him so he could see his health status
Kris Bryant will go down as the greatest Chicago athlete after MJ

edit 7/30/21: okay maybe not, but it was a fun ride nonetheless

Nothing funny about it, just down right sad. I hope this ends a long and depressing two years of uncalled for animosity towards him and people can move on.

Also, BJ Armstrong is not sure if Derrick should even rush into playing this season and is steamed that the Bulls made him workout and risk further injury.

I call bull! Further injury? In a workout? Puhleez. I hope this was in green. (On my phone via Tapatalk, can't tell) :)

You can relax. JK.

If BJ really said he didn't think Rose should rush into playing this season, we would be in full meltdown right now.

Maybe Rose was just continuing his daily routine? I find it hard to believe it was set up so Melo could sit back and say, wow, that knee sure is holding up well. He got an opportunity to see how Rose works, what he's doing to come back. That's great, but I don't believe the team would ask Rose to put on a show or whatever.

Friedel did something useful today, we should recognize his effort. We can go back to complaining about him soon enough, but today lets give him his due.

feel the same. I just cant imagine Rose running drills for melo because of melo. maybe he changed his schedule around some but he was always going to get his am rehab in today.

Derrick Rose's actions today was all about leadership

The best brand of leadership is being of service to others in your actions in what you do- not necessarily being a rah rah mouthpiece.

Derrick Rose , today , displayed what is at the core of this team - what it's culture is and what makes it tick

It's the same type of selfless leadership that Tim Duncan has displayed in his career in San Antonio with the right outline and guidance that had been set by Spurs Management - as best exemplified by RC Buford and Greg Popovich

Character matters.

Leadership and the right type of determined , selfless leadership - ultimately , guarantees success

Joakim Noah is the colour in our leadership mix but Derrick Rose is the foundation

Major props to all in the organization that have done the best possible job they could have

I believe it will end up paying off - big time

I have been critical of Rose not recruiting--now we know he did that and much much more.
If the workout is true--hats off to D Rose-wow.

Melo requesting it is not a total dick move from Melo's POV. He's risking money and moving family potentially--he doesn't want to end up back where he started--with less money and a pissed off wife.
