I seem to recall a few Amare threads getting a little out of hand an a very fast rate.

Melo spent 9 hours with the Bulls. Other teams will likely get no more than 3. I like.

Someone made a comparison to the OKC Thunder if we acquire Melo. OKC's problem is that they don't get enough consistent scoring from 3-9. Their supporting cast is filled with low volume scorers.

McDermott and Mirotic should keep us from trending down that lane, but if Butler is going to play heavy minutes like he did last season, he can't score so little. He really has to make a jump in his scoring. 15-16 per 36.

If you can do your do without messing with Jimmy, its a no brainer. But if he has to go, he has to go. I'll appreciate what he did, and appreciate he allowed us to get Melo

Houston, Dallas have no shot.

IF the Lakers had Jerry Buss or Phil Jackson they probably would. But the lakers are in shambles, and don't have those two names anymore. So they have no shot. The Bulls got this.

There is no sense in trading Butler instead of Snell. Find that 700k somewhere else.

Disagree

Butler has stronger market and Tony ( over time ) has better skill set

I'd try and keep Ronnie Brewer as a wing defender and Tony Snell and move Dunleavy, Butler , Randolph and Smith - all 1 year deals at around $7m - 4 rotation quality players for $7m

I could definately see the Lakers going for something like that for a future protected 1st round pick

i honestly hope jimmy is on this team next yr cause i really think he will have a comeback yr. This yr was filled with injuries and then fatigue which might not seem like a big deal but jimmy was playing really high minutes which esp take a toll on the legs...and he isnt that finetuned of a shooter anyway. Any disadvantage in that is a bad one

I'd pay him. Who's going to guard the LeBron's, Durant's, and other top scorers in the league night in and night out, not to mention the playoffs? I think Jimmy is extremely important to our success if we're thinking championship. There's no reason we should have to trade him. He fits perfectly alongside Rose and Melo

Knicks fan here. I'm impressed with the work the bulls did today. Seemed they pulled out all the stops and beyond. Would be happy to see Melo play on a team with a good roster and coach. The WHOLE organization seemed to come out together for this pitch. Bulls are my #1 hoPeful destination for Melo if he leaves. Though I Hope Knicks don't get f'ed in both attaining Melo and Melo leaving.

we would have his rights. Hopefully we win a chip and he gives us a discount compared to the overpayment he will get at marketvalue

It's really weird that Jeanie Buss is recruiting Carmelo to the Lakers while her husband (or is it still boyfriend?) is in charge of the Knicks. Those have to be some weird conversations at night.
