Assuming we have to give up something of value to get Melo, I think giving up McDermott makes the most sense given his positional overlap with Melo.

You're right, but it looks like a lot of that is because teams are valuing perimeter shooting.

I'd say the Bradley market is about 6-7mil, maybe a bit less considering injury concerns. And he might take a little bit less to start on a contender.

well thats what im talking about he can also shoot it decently well while providing defense... he will get paid :(

Let's hope not... I don't think he has too much of a reputation as a shooter.

like hell the Knicks won't take Boozer.

They'll take him, and they will like it. They have zero leverage here.

Kind of amazing that years worth of hate and frustration directed at DRose has been wiped away in a couple hours by a fake story from Alex Kennedy.

Jimmy is a young great piece with great value on a cheap deal. And although he has an extension coming up he won't command more than 5-7 mill on the open market which mean going forward he a great asset

You don't salary dump that. You get value back for that

On top of that jimmy and mirotic in any deal makes ny say yes to a s&t so again it makes no sense to just salary dump a great asset like jimmy.

Just dump snell and offer 16.5 instead of 16.9. Keep jimmy until you can trade him for a great piece or asset.

This is the tweet everyone is mentioning re Butler.

[tweet]https://twitter.com/chicagobullsbot/status/484175409932537856[/tweet]

He makes no mention of Snell or the unguaranteed deals. Are they factored in here in this calculation or not?

If the answer is no, you can replace Butler with those deals.

If the answer is yes, and we're forced down the cap road via an agreement with Melo, then cya later Jimmy.

He is far lass critical than Taj, and is more replaceable as well, not to mention we may lose him anyway come extension time.

But Kobe. Who would turn down the opportunity of playing with a 36-year old Kobe Bryant coming off a major injury and a broken down Steve Nash?

Melo making 60 million over 4 years to Melo making 96 million 4 years says otherwise.

The Bulls could probably find a 3rd team to take Boozer if NY absolutely does not want him. Would have to send a ton of picks over though

Why? A sign and trade would indicate Melo is going to the Bulls. That's a huge power shift in negotiations,

Could this signify Melo is already leaning towards Chicago?
