go take a browse of the knicks forum, boy do they want assets lol... I read one Knick fan say that if Melo is signing for less than the Knicks money, he'd only go to the cHeat LOL

People predicted he wouldn't recruit because he specifically said he wouldn't. On several occasions.

He said that as a general statement. Yet we know Derrick recruited Hinrich. And it was reported Derrick had reached out to Melo. That sounds like recruiting to me. Actions>>>words.

We're good so long as there isn't an ESPN special and a pre-season parade at Grant Park.
Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

Lol...

I'm serious though. She's cool as hell, got a great personality, loves hip hop, and still keeps herself busy compared to just mooching off of her baller husband. I actually know who Lala is besides just being Melo's wife, that's probably a reassuring thing for her that people can say that.

Grade A wifey material right there.

*This opinion in no way reflects Bulls management or Players, so no need to feel disrespected Carmelo Anthony in case you're reading.

Yeah, Lala has her own career going on, TV show, movies, hosting gigs. She's not gonna stop Melo from leaving New York if it boosts his career and is something he really wants to do, just like Melo isn't gonna tell Lala she can't do a film or TV show she wants to do. If Melo wants to compete for a title next year and play for the Bulls then he'll be here and she'll be by his side.

What shows is Lala on now adays? Or Movies for that matter. The only thing I know about her is that she use to be a MTV VJ back when she and Melo first got together and that she is married to Melo.

It will probably be some, but Melo not going on live TV for 30 mins and then proclaiming about it being easy and winning not 3, not 4 etc will significantly help.

Shogun12 wrote:I know I may be alone, but if Carmelo were willing to take a 4 year 78 million dollar deal (19 million a season), I'd trade Taj, as well as MDJ, Boozer and Randolph to land him in an outright signing. You'd still have 5 million in capspace to offer Gasol or even Jordan Hill. No messing around with giving valuable assets to New York, and you can bring Mirotic over next summer.

PG-Rose/Hinrich (vet min)
SG-Butler/Snell
SF-Melo/McDermott
PF-Hill/Brand (vet min)/Bairstow
C-Noah/Kaman (BAE)/Smith

Isn't this a title contender? I understand the ideal scenario of landing Melo in a sign and trade. I want that too. But Houston couldn't pull it off last year with Dwight, and I'm not willing to lose Melo if New York flat out refuses to negotiate like the Lakers may have last off-season.

We could amnesty Boozer and salary dump Dunleavy + Taj for a 1st rounder and a 2nd rounder, thereby opening up the requisite cap space.

Then we outright sign Melo @ 21 million per. Rough cap math. But that only leaves Melo 9 million short over 4 years. But he earns a couple of titles along the way.
For love, not money.

In regards to the Knicks board, it's a really sad state of affairs over there. Those guys can't even agree about whether or not they even want Melo back. And in between those arguments, they are lashing out at every Bulls fan that goes in there. I'm telling you, if you want to find out whether or not to post over there, just read like 3 pages of the Melodrama thread and that will tell you all you need to know about what "place their in" mentally. She has a reality show on VH1 right now that follows her day to day stuff, she host reunion type reality shows on TV from time to time, and she's doing pretty well with the Think Like a Man movies with Kevin Hart right now.

I honestly feel a little bad for DRose. Quietly walking out of the UC with some little training doohicky and a pair of basketball shoes like a little kid. Being paraded around like a show dog can't feel good for anybody's ego, especially for a player that could be an opposing player next year.

I definitely feel for him. My left ACL is torn at the moment. I hope he can come back strong, and I feel, if we don't get Melo, hope Rose can make him pay.

I'm assuming Bulls didn't just have one offer for Melo. They gave the preferred sign & trade overview, but, then also likely presented outlines for each and every combination starting with the core members so Melo would have the chance to decide how much he could take and what impact it would have on the team. Something like...

You could start with XX.x if we striped it down to the top 4 guys
You could start with XX.x million if we kept Jimmy
You could start with XX.x million if we moved Jimmy

This way he'd know exactly what impact each amount would have and, if he decided to give up any, decide which cuts were worth it and which weren't.

Doubt it the Bulls and Melo are the reaction to the action.

Most real NBA fans now know that you have to have a super team to beat a super team.

Also most fans know that the Bulls and Melo are a perfect fit.

On top of that, Melo isn't considered the best player in the world and isn't leaving a team that was considered a title contender with him.

So let me get this straight, can the Bulls only use their exceptions if they do a S&T for Anthony?

If so, couldn't the backup plan be dumping Taj, signing Anthony outright, and then doing the S&T for Gasol, which would put the Bulls over the cap and make the exceptions available?

Just brainstorming here...

He had an incredible 2013-14 season. All NBA 1st team, DPOY, and now, potentially being one of the drivers in this recruiting process.

This man bleeds Chicago, and it's clearly evident why he is so highly valued by the organisation.

How awesome is it gonna be when he takes that Duncan/Wade like pay cut in a few years too when it's time to re-up. :D Can't say enough how lucky we are to have Jo both on the court and off.
