thing about boozer getting amnestied is he is not going to clear waivers. Dude can still get a double double on most nights and is a great locker room guy.

I see a team under the cap giving him a decent bid to get him. So JR will not pay the full salary owed.

And even if not, it was reported JR greenlight the amnesty. Also he paid like 10 million dollars to make Eddie Robinson go away. I don't think he'd bat an eye to clear Booz.

Booze is easily a $7M to $8M market value right now IMO - next year .....he's an MLE or 80% thereof if more than a 2 year MLE .

Anyway ....if he's amnestied he'll end up costing JR between $8M to $10M

However Pax did say they were always going to reinvest the Luol Deng savings when Andrew Bynum was flicked

So yeah.....one balances out the other in the fiscal rationalism of Carlos Boozer's cost if he's amnestied

Or , if he's used in a S and T for Melo - then hey baby chips and gravy - all good

Someone explain the amnesty to me.

I read that if we amnesty Boozer, we lose our MLE?

That blows. If we can get Pau to commit to the MLE contingent on Melo signing with us, thats even more of an incentive of Melo to come here even if it is for less.

I'm calling people out because of the sheer level of venom that was spewed in Derrick's direction for an offense they ASSUMED he was going to commit. Much of it was over the top and personal. Again, if this doesn't apply to you then great, but it's not like we can't go dig up some of the more bitter and personal attacks on the guy that were posted on the very forum only within the past few days.

Agreed. The nonsense that has been said about Rose over the last few days has been so beyond over the top. To be frank, it's been embarrassing.

This is basically the foolishness of the bitter fan. They read something about Rose and automatically go negative. Thats its. If they bothered to read the article Rose was gushing over Melo and how much he loved his game and stated he would be happy to play with anyone that wanted to come here.

The hate jumped the shark.

Exactly. The pieces are falling together in my opinion. I mean it would be weird if Melo was a Knick next season after all this. He's had more to do with the Bulls in the last 3 months than he has with the Knicks.

'A team built around Gasol and Melo playing in the triangle is better than the future the bulls are offering'
' If Timmy gets his defense together he a starter right now he's a weapon on offense with the body of a Kobe and Jordan'

capspace = no mle

its why a s&t works out so great, we get melo and the mle to sign another piece.

Well by that logic, Jimmy Butler has a body like Kobe or Jordan and already has his defense together.

Yeah pretty much... the updates at least carried on for a fair while.

Spent a few hours at the UC, then a few at dinner. There were reports that he'd left for Texas after a little while, but then conflicting reports said he was still at dinner.

They might as well say jose calderon is going to turn into a mvp rose/nash hybrid.
As much as it hurts them, they need to let Anthony go. They ain't gonna do jack if he's making 23+ a year. Ny is nowhere near ready to compete for a title. I would Build a winning culture and go after durant and other big names in a few years. At least then you'll have somewhat of a chance.

Exactly, it's in their best interests.

Unfortunately for them, we have the leverage and we're not going to give them all of our asset's to aid in their rebuilding, as much as their forum would like to think otherwise, but freeing up the cap and accepting a rebuilding phase is the best thing for their organization.

Guys, we found our purpose. This is our destiny in life. We can save them. We can save them all.

Lets save the Knicks fans from themselves by getting Melo!

Whether Melo comes here or not, Tuesday was one of the more fun days that I can remember on this board.
I'm not here to argue.
