Agreed. Wish it could be like this everyday instead of the petty, stupid ripping on our own guys and stressing over things we cant control like what MIA is doing :banghead:

Have to give everyone credit for doing an excellent job with Melo today. GarPax, Thibs, Noah, Taj, Uncle Jerry, and DRose. Ecstatic that Rose joined the group and showed a unified pitch for Melo, really wasnt expecting anything from him after those "comments".

Total of 9 hours capped off with dinner at the Peninsula, I like the sound of that!
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

RE: The whole Rose thing in this Melo-Drama:
The guy is getting $20MIL per, the highest paid player on the team
and the alleged "Face of the Franchise". He's played a handful of games in
the past few seasons.

He damn well had better have gotten his ass to 1 meeting and a dinner!

Yeah, one day, and an evening of his life. And let's be honest, without
the "character assassination" retorts, making comments regarding an unwillingness
to recruit, days before Anthony's visit to Chicago just wasn't very smart. Especially if
it had been his intention to be there and a part of the luring from the get-go.

The comment didn't jibe with him being there with bells on yesterday either. This tells me, yeah,
he got slapped on the wrist by management and told to be there. Noah's not-so-cryptic tweet
during this same time period supports that as well.

It's all overblown anyway, of course. I guess we're all just a little uptight about Melo's decision (Small d, haha).

I'm going to go ahead and guess that his meeting with the Bulls will be Melo's longest...BY FAR!

Well, there's practically not enough hours in the day for him to match it with the Texas teams unless he doesn't sleep...

I really hope there's a way of getting Melo without giving up Mirotic, Taj, McDermott,Butler. I've seen Mirotic play a lot over the past 2 years and he is a straight up baller. Bulls fans haven't seen much of him and just look at his stats, and just think he's just some decent European player. If the bulls trade him, fans are going regret it becuase he is extremely talented.

knick lurkers, we dont have to send you booz in a s&t, we can always include an asset hoarding 3rd team like the sixers and given them picks for taking on booz.

But that just takes away future assets from you in a deal.

I'm glad Reinsdorf was in on the pitch. He's a Brooklyn native, was here through the Jordan years (I'm sure he shared some stories about Michael and Phil)- and most of all- he's a closer. He may not have closed Melo- but he's the only guy in the Bulls brass I would trust to do so. Reinsdorf is now OG.

Chicago has been building up to this point for the last 10 years. Getting assets, making trades to get to a point where they are one player away from title contention. So if we lose Mirotic its all part of the process. Just look at him like we are losing the 23rd draft pick in the 2011 draft.

At some point in time you got to ask yourself what is the main goal. And the goal is to win a championship. Even if we only have a 3-4 year window with melo you still do it. Hopefully you play it savvier then miami and keep developing young talent.

I mean if you told me we would win one title and then for some reason we would sorta suck for 3 years id still do it.

I guess I have a hard time trading him when I have watched him ball out these past 2 seasons. Trading Mirotic is almost like trading Parker, Wiggins, Embid he has that much talent. Yes I would trade him for Melo but it would be the absolute last option.

Yea how embarrassing it would be for Melo to sign with anyone else. Especially the ball dominant players on the Rockets.

It would be much easier to win that much desired title if we have Mirotic on the team ... Being on the court with Rose, Butler, Melo and Noah, he would be an absolutely devastating 3rd scoring option ...

My post is not meant as I dis to Chicago or the Bulls. I'm not posting in here to start crap. On all accounts I like Chicago and the Bulls. Joakim plays with heart and so does Rose and I like that. Bulls are a gritty team. With that being said I think you guys courted Melo very well, but in the end I don't know if it will be enough. Someone who knows Carmelo told me that he is still all about the money. So my contention is not against you guys but against him. I personally think Houston is good on the offensive side of the ball. We need more shooters and better lock down defenders coming off our bench in addition to a starting stretch four. Melo does not solve the Rockets problems. If you guys can land Anthony then hats off to the Bulls and its fans. Double hats off to you guys if you can beat the Heat. Good luck in free agency Chicago from a real basketball fan in Houston.

Define embarrassing. Perhaps offer some examples from your team(s)?
