I'd like this but why would Boston want Jennings? To groom Smart on how to be inefficient and shoot worse than he already does?

The problem would be in finding a player that Denver wants back. Their starting 5 is pretty well set, unless they would want Moose to take the position from McGee.

But, I'd definitely take Chandler. He's not a superstar, but he can do a lot of things well.

Now that the Nets have lost their main PG in Livingston to Golden State we should be able to offer that moron Billy King Jennings in a trade

Telotevic for Jennings straight up? He would fit in great behind Monroe/Smith backing up

Saves us 4M and the Russian doesnt mind paying taking on salary and paying a huge tax

Then we can move Smith and Bynum for Thomas and Gay from the Kings

Thomas / Siva
Meeks / KCP
Gay / Singler
Monroe / Teletovic
Drummond / Vet C

yeah, i know. its going to be tough to try and maximise the value on all the players that really don't belong on our team. I would start with singler and a second round pick or two. It's not going to be easy but i think they want to free up some money that the contracts of chandler and mcgee currently hold.

I was thinking before FA began, that signing gordon hayward to start at SF and then somehow getting chandler to then play sixth man behind both KCP and hayward would be ideal. im starting to realise that is incredibly unlikely, but if we could steal chandler and then got a proper shot creating small forward out of the money owed to smith and jennings (after they expire i guess) then we would really have something nice to go along with moose/dre.

We need to be willing to part with next years first as well if it fills a role we hope to fill in the next little while too. It's value is only going to decrease from now on. It should still hold top 10 value around the league, so we can get some serious returns from it, whereas by midseason its much more likely to be at about 15-20 value, which is significantly lower.

Why everyone thinks that Meeks will start over KCP? To me, Meeks has been signed to be a backup.

The reason (at least for me) is that Meeks is a proven shooter, while KCP had a lot of shooting woes last year. And Van Gundy is going to want to get elite shooting out of his perimeter.

Meeks wont start due to his size. No way we start a 5'11 PG in Jennings and a 6'3 SG in Meeks, thats asking to be a terrible defensive team and putting too much pressure on Drummond to cover for them. I agree that Meeks will be the primary backup G.

Meeks has experience. If KCP didn't have have that last game of the season, most would be agreeing with this. KCP could still very well struggle this year. i think he's going to be good, but as of right now, Meeks is the better/proven player. When camp comes, if KCP beats out Meeks, we have alot to be excited about

With the Moose for Anderson Rumor and Us making an offer for Isiah Thomas, it makes me wonder if both Monroe and Smith are going to be traded this off season. I've got this feeling that we trade Smith in a deal for Isiah Thomas and we trade Moose for Anderson.

If the Rockets don't get one of their prized FA's, i wonder if they'd be interested in a S&T of parsons for Josh Smith

I don't think the starting position belongs to anyone right now. SVG will let them compete for it in training camp. Meeks will probably win out, unless KCP can find his shooting stroke again.

After Ariza/Hayward are gone the only way we can get a starting small forward is through trades. I would love to do a Monroe for Batum Trade or Smith for Parsons trade but I don't know if those are realistic. What other starting small forwards are out there that we could trade for?

I think either Parsons or Batum will get done (hopefully). I don't think we get Isiah Thomas and we run with:

Jennings
Kcp
Batum or Parsons
Smith or Monroe
Drummond

Still would easily be a playoff team, and depending on where Drummond ended up and how much Jennings could reel in his woeful shooting we could make some noise as soon as next year.

I think Jennings for Wilson Chandler works if we were to do the Zeek Jr. trade. Denver needs a backup PG, he could fill that need out there. We'd have our starting 3 whose capable of nailing the 3.

Man if we could pull that off..

Only thing is I'd hope IT doesn't regress after being paid

From Zack Lowe's Free agent article on Grantland

"In a broader sense, the Pistons are doing interesting stuff. They’ve reportedly inquired about Isaiah Thomas, a bold move for a team that just locked up Brandon Jennings last summer. But Jennings was mostly bad, and creative front offices don’t just shrug and give up after allotting significant money to a guy at one position — especially when that contract only runs two more seasons.

Reading between the lines, a sign-and-trade involving Thomas and Josh Smith may be in the works, and multiple sources say Monroe’s camp has made it known Monroe will sign the one-year qualifying offer if Smith remains on the roster. Monroe’s camp denies that, and that kind of empty threat is not atypical from top restricted free agents. It’s really their only form of leverage."

the best thing that could happen is houston strikes out on Lebron/Melo (likely), and they feel the need to add another big name to their lineup. i would be so f/ucking happy if we could get them to agree to a Parsons S&T for Smith. our selling point could be that they need a defensive PF to flank D12 after Aldridge just torched them last playoffs.

I would love to do a Monroe for Batum trade, I feel like Batum would be the perfect player at small forward for us.
