Even Morey doesn't have special powers that let him circumvent the salary cap. Only way it hapens is if Lowry & Melo agree to split 21 million.

Here is the thing though... that Asik trade Houston made with New Orleans has not finalized yet. Per inside sources there COULD be more to that trade. Or it might open up ground for a SnT in this crazy Melo/Lowry scenario. Not saying it's probable but there is a slight chance for all this to go down.

Thats because NO needs to clear salary out before they can finalize the deal. Do you think Houston is going to renege on the deal they agreed to with NO? Or are you suggesting that Toronto and NY are going to S&T Lowry and Melo for Lin and Asik?

If Morey can land Lowry and Melo AND somehow keep Parsons, well, bravo. I don't think that roster would work fit-wise, but if you can amass that much talent, you might as well give it a shot. But I don't see how the numbers work given that Lowry wants his market value and we don't know yet how big of a pay cut Melo will take, if any.

After meeting with the Houston Rockets, Carmelo Anthony flew back to Chicago and sat down one more time with Bulls officials. Here is a brief outtake from the conversation.

Spoiler:
Melo: Where is Rose?
Rose: *hobbling into the room* Hey Melo!
Melo: Awww, hell nah! Take me back to Houston.

the posts per page is way too small, no wonder we pile up the page counts

there's probably some way to change the posts per page to a higher amount in the settings.

Nick Friedell, a Syracuse alum, showed up in the middle of the meeting and started dancing and then took his shirt off. Melo then said he has made a decision, unclear what that decision was. Here is a pic for proof

I'm feeling pretty lucky that tomorrow is my last day at my current job (and then I have a week off before starting the next one! Winning!). Pretty sure my internet usage patterns would set off alarm bells if they cared what I was up to anymore.

They were grilling Bill Simmons on Waddle and Silvy.

Talking Bill doesnt know what he is talking about corncerning what JR would be willing to pay or do. Saying how he is dead wrong about him not wanting to pay Carlos Boozer to go away. The said he has already done it with Eddie Robinson and Tim Thomas. Also talked about how he paid JWill when he didnt have to etc etc.

We all know Bill Simmons is basically a fan/homer who happens to be on tv so I dont fault him. He reads these boards and stuff like we do.

Ok, so this goes beyond my knowledge of the CBA. So who knows the cap implications of Asik not being finalized. But I'm just counting salary and minimum cap holds. You try to fill in the blanks-

Howard- 21.44
Harden- 14.69
Melo-
Lowry-
Parsons-
cap holds = 3.55 (7x.507)

That's salary of $39.68. Cap is 63.2. Remaining is 23.52. I believe you can trade over the cap but not over the tax apron. So maybe they've got 37.32 to S&T picks and players for Melo and Lowry and sign Parsons.

Even if that happens, they'd have a great starting 5 but 7 vet mins off the bench and McHale as a coach.

I think its asking Melo a lot to put everything on hold for Morey to execute all of this and move to Houston on top of it.
Honesty is my only excuse.

Bulls offering a big four.

Rockets offering a big five.

I feel like I'm watching those Schick or Gillette commercials where they keep adding more razors for maximum quality for each shave.

Mark Cuban: "Houston can get five top players? F*** IT WE'RE GOING SEVEN!!!!"

Hopefully D.Rose whoring himself out there for Melo gets it done, or it will be for nothing.

Thats interesting because noth Mac&Spiegs show and B&B on 670 were ripping Simmons yesterday for being 'out of town stupid' about Reinsdorf. Mentioned the same things - Jay Williams, Eddie Robinson, Tim Thomas.

I'm pretty sure it's not finalized yet because Asik does not fit into the Pelicans' current cap space. I think they need to drop Austin Rivers on another team or something like that for it to work.
