OT: I know it is kind of morbid, but how do you know when a poster has died? If he isn't a mod or personal friends with someone on the board, then they just die and stop posting. No one would know to acknowledge him and bid him an appropriate farewell, kinda like we do when a player leaves the Suns. Kinda sad, because I like you guys.

Funny how a sports teams create an automatic bond with people you have never met before.

Cross the Cavs off the list. I just have to think that we are still seriously being considered by LeBron for us to have not at least made some noise in free agency thus far. Especially when Sarver has said he wants to spend over the cap.

Short answer is, we don't know... :(

I remember that. You guys were on TV so much that year. That was good times for all of us!! :D

I know Lebron's max is around 22mil. I can't imagine that's the number being talked about for Hayward.

Max deals off rookie contracts are somewhere around 15mil per season. Max deals after that are around 20mil per and beyond.
People act like giving a max to someone like Bledsoe is going to cap-strangle this franchise when in reality, it's not. It doesn't make it a good deal, but it's not like he's getting Joe Johnson money.

The only issue would be having to give out the same money to Goran next year, and many feel that $30 million for the backcourt is a little much.

This is where Ray Ray needs to come in and tell us that we are the only team aside from Miami that Lebron has agreed to entertain. Come on Ray Ray!

Hummmm.... Yea, it makes Utah pay him max and hurts them or they lose him. Maybe we are sooooo close to Lebron we are saying take Hayward :o

Channing Frye | Age: 31 | PF/C | $8 million average annual value
C.J. Miles | Age: 27 | SG/SF | $2 million AAV
Ekpe Udoh | Age: 27 | PF/C | $2 million AAV

Splitting the cap space among these three players may not grab the biggest headlines, but it may yield the most wins for the Heat.

I guess we should stop thinking that Miami needs guys like Deng, Gasol, or Lowry for LeBron to stay there. Depth should also entice him and someone like Frye could do it. If not him, maybe Hawes.

On a side note, I really want McRoberts on this team (instead of Frye). He'll come cheaper for sure and can do more. He's a decent passer and ball handler. Finishes at the rim more than Frye does and can also shoot the 3. This is based on what I saw from him here in Charlotte last season.

Another mindless "ESPN Analyst" at work. I love how guys like this excoriate Robert Sarver 4 years ago for signing Channing Fry to a terrible contract and over pay him, but now suggest that Miami should pay him $8M/yr. Guys like this should not be permitted anywhere near a word processor.

By the way, this would be perhaps the shallowest team in the league, but I guess the Heat can fill in all the other slots with min salary free agents. I am sure Ray Allen would play for a $1M contract as would Haslem and others.

I wouldnt mind seeing the Suns make a big offer for Stephenson, I know he is a bit of a nut, but he is only 23 and is a hell of a good player and would fit into the Suns quite well as a Tucker replacement, he can easily play the SF position and is an even better defender and rebounder than Tucker. Stephenson would be a beast with Bled, Dragic, Plumelee, kieff and the rest of the cast.

Coro just tweeted out an article he just wrote about free agents and the suns negotiating with their own free agents (they offered contracts to all of our own guys). I would post it but I literally just told you the whole article.

I do not believe anything Windhorst says - this is a combination of wishful thinking on his part - Strike another option for James off the list so Windhorst can keep his fat behind in South Beach.

My problem with that is that he's not just a headcase, he's a headcase that wants $10+ million/yr.

I'm sure he meant the Cavs HAVE been unsuccessful. Otherwise the sentence makes no sense.

Article has now corrected it to: "The Cavs had been hoping to secure a meeting with LeBron James but haven't been successful and moved on to make Hayward their top free-agent target."

Yeah no thanks. Lance just doesn't impress me. He is more bark than bite.

Plus, I doubt LeBron wants to play on the same team as Stephenson

That's a link to a story written this morning, before the Cleveland news came out.

And now I'm curious. Would the Rockets have enough cap space to sign LeBron to a max contract if they got rid of Lin (probably common knowledge, I just don't know). And another question: would LeBron find that Rockets team a more attractive destination than the Suns? (I mean, we can't really know for sure, but it's just been on my mind)

I really don't want Hayward for more than $12 mil. per, which is apparently his asking price...

I think Cleveland might give him 14 or 15mil per.

Hope it's not us willing to give him that much per.

Return to Phoenix Suns
