David Aldridge confirmed it.

He also said that Melo was headed to Texas last night. When in actuality, Melo was having dinner with his new teammates. 8-)

I hope he finds it too dry at parts, too soggy at other parts. And I hope they mistakenly give him Tiramisu instead of the Crème brûlée he ordered, and he's all "no, that's OK, I'll take it" but then he slightly dislikes it.

Texas is all about Brisket. No one does it better.

The best BBQ Ive had in Texas was 'Hard 8' just outside of Dallas. I have not spent much time in Houston.

Dwight- 21.44
Harden- 14.69
Melo- 20?
Lowry-
Parsons-
cap holds 7x.507
That leaves $3.5M in cap, $17.3 to the tax apron. right?

Dude I honestly don't know how they could pull it off either,

Dude, because they can't, brah.

S&T for Lowry (at 12) for Jones, D-Mo, Beverly, Caanan leaves $9.1M after cap holds. S&T for Carmelo (at $20M) puts them $10M over the cap, $2.9 under the apron. Can they resign Parsons and go over the apron for any amount? If not, he'd get $5.3M to get up to the apron amount with 7 cap holds.

Of course this doesn't even factor in salary matching and assets needed to send to Toronto and New York to make it happen.

Morey may be good but can he really fleece Phil and Masai like that?
Honesty is my only excuse.

That's what I was just trying to figure out. It must have been a lot less than 2 hours of face time.

Why even make the trip?

I'm telling you, Dwight Howard has a way of turning you off.

When I met him during the lockout, one of the first things I said to him was, "so you must really be missing playing right now" and his answer was, "Nah, not really. Now I have time to explore other things." Basketball is a job to him. He's an amazing talent of course, but if I were a player I probably wouldn't bank my remaining prime years of basketball on him.

They also brought Drexler into the meeting. I loved watching him play, but he is one of the most boring personalities out there. It's a snooze fest listening to him speak.

A lot was made out about Anthony and Lin's relationship in NY, but Anthony has always maintained that he was a big supporter of Lin. If they have remained friendly at all, then he may have been turned off by the number thing.

did Derrick Rose turn you off when he said he wasn't sure about competing in Team USA after 2 years off?

Genuinely curious. How did you meet him? Part of your job? Or did you just run into him somewhere?

It was part of my job. Can't talk about it too much, but I work in Hollywood and he was interested in getting into acting. I'm not in casting, but our casting department knew I was really into basketball and asked me to join them.

So in summary:

-Short 1 hr meeting
-Dwight is an a$$
-Drexler is boring
-if Lala is hesitant about CHI she is going to shut down the idea of living in HOU fast as frack

Oh and the Lin # thing is overblown, as I noted above he would have to give that number up to Melo regardless because Melo has more time in the league, it doesn't mean he is a goner

He wouldn't HAVE to give it up. Usually players have to pay other players to get their numbers. I don't think it's the biggest thing (re: Melo), but I'm sure he's smart enough to see that it's disrespectful.

I didn't know it worked like that. I thought it was done out of tradition and respect like giving up your chair to an old person

If Morey can, he will definitely try to pull it off. Knicks and Raptors have to be on board and help though. It is a major sell in my opinion but it is something Morey will explore. Not saying it will happen though but again Les Alexander is not scared of paying the luxury tax.

The way you pick your meal there is insane. You end up with $50 of meat on your plate before you know what happened.

Damn now I want BBQ...

So is Butler going to be on the move for Melo? Seems Noah, Rose, Taj are talked about as the "core" with no mention of Butler, at least in recent articles.

From this page:

The most likely players the Chicago Bulls would consider trading

Carlos Boozer $16,800,000
Mike Dunleavy $3,326,235
Tony Snell $1,472,400
Anthony Randolph $1,825,359
Louis Amundson $1,310,286
Ronnie Brewer $1,310,286
Mike James $1,448,490
Total Salaries: $27,493,056

Carmelo Anthony Max Contract: $23,333,405

The conclusion here is the Chicago Bulls will need to find a trade partner that is willing to absorb $4m to $10m of Carlos Boozer $16.8m contract. If the Chicago Bulls are willing to send any of these assets below with Carlos Boozer, you all will likely agree a deal is very possible:

Don't know why I didn't consider this. If we do this, can we still use MLE on Mirotic?
