@Jonathan_Feigen: Interesting listening to Dwight after the Melo lunch talk about Parsons as certain to be back. "I don't think it's a question mark."

While it's still an early juncture of the free-agent period, following its thorough presentation, the organization is brimming with confidence about the possibility of acquiring the scorer, and though he arrived in Chicago already holding the Bulls in high esteem amongst his suitors, Anthony came away from the meeting with a reinforced belief that the Bulls are indeed a worthy candidate to lure him away from New York, the same league source explained.

I think Rockets are out of the race. Anthony won't consider a franchise where player are disrespected.

They weren't ever in the race. Carmelo isn't leaving the Eastern Conference.

This kind of argument was so popular last year too. No way Dwight Howard leaves the Lakers. No way.

@ramonashelburne: Lakers are laser-focused on meeting with Melo on Thursday. They're making other calls, but all other business is conditional on that

Carmelo Anthony doesn't give two craps and a penny about Jeremy Lin or his number. This is a story because its funny and insulting to Lin. Not because it matters to the Melo sweepstakes.

I read you reading that as an impressive rap lyric as "this guy's a bad reader."

I love this Lin controversy. It can only help the Bulls.

@RealGM: Didn't the Heat photoshop No. 6 for LeBron James while Mario Chalmers had it? The issue here is Lin needs to go to fit Melo on cap.

Its not just about talent. Its about complimentary pieces. The Bulls core is all defense. Add a pure scorer like Melo and its golden. At least in theory. That's why we want him.

Complimentary Pieces.
Teamwork.

Its a concept.

Without rose those complimentary pieces mean nothing and hate to break it to you but rose is stoudemire 2.0. You guys sign melo and you will have zero capspace for years. We can sign another star next year.

Can you at least TRY to know what you are talking about when you compare Rose to other guys who have been injured. Rose's injuries are nothing like Amar'e's. Like literally.

You mean the complementary pieces that have made the playoffs twice without Rose? Adding Carmelo to the Bulls, even if Rose never plays again, might put them in the top 2 or 3 in the East.

and hate to break it to you but rose is stoudemire 2.0.

Rose is 31 years old and has a degenerative knee condition? Thanks for "breaking it" to us. Look, we know Rose is a question mark until he stays healthy for a full season. But by all accounts, he's rounding back into form and will be ready to go on opening night.

You guys sign melo and you will have zero capspace for years.

We don't plan on really needing any, either.

We can sign another star next year.

Yes, possibly. But that's another year of Carmelo's prime lost and no more likely to happen than Rose coming back healthy and performing at a high level. Probably less so if the Knicks struggle again next season.

Carmelo seems happy with New York as his home, and the Knicks can offer all that money, but they're pretty clearly not the best basketball decision for him. We'll see how he ends up weighing all those factors.
Can I borrow a feeling?

The data is irrefutable but OK. Its not what the writer is saying but it is what he is proving in his data chart. But keep being a defense triumphs over all fan and see how far that gets you. The Bulls front office would agree with me and the numbers don't lie either.

Really? Name the last player that went from MVP level to miss 2 years with knee issues to return to that level again? I'll be here waiting all day for you to find someone

I think his point is that you don't understand the difference between chronic and acute injuries. To my knowledge, there is no historical comparison to Derrick Rose's situation right now, so the question can't be answered.

There actually is. Ronaldo is actually closer to Rose than ppl like stoudemire and roy.... Bc his is 2 freak injuries and not degenerative conditions, despite being a different sport.

Well **** Chalmers anyway.

They did that to fool LeBron into thinking Chalmers would be gone.

That's not really the point though. Lin is under contract to the Houston Rockets and wears #7. Melo is not under contract to Houston and they pretty much pretended he didn't exist. Yeah, he probably won't be there if Melo goes to them, but he's still an employee of the organization right now.

I wasn't suggesting Lin has to be shipped upon a Melo acquisition - I don't know. I was saying it's common for a player to give up his jersey number for an incoming superstar. Dwight took Beverly's number, for instance. I can see how it's a (slight) slight, but it shouldn't be that insulting. Melo criticizing the contract Houston gave Lin, now that's insulting. So I'm thinking it's like a build up.

It is quite the ordeal to read what you type. Giving my head pains. Bless.

Yeah a couple double ipa's probably have something to do with that lol
