Rockets fan...not Jeremy Lin fan (worshiper)
I say he is overpaid (which he is) and that he is a bad fit (which he is) and you try to insult me lol. Now that is classy.
You make his point by throwing out hyperbolic statements ("worshiper") and acting childish.
I honestly don't expect you to understand what I meant by worshiper. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but Lin's fans are some of the most rabid fans I've ever seen in my life. True NY Knick fans and true Houston Rockets fans who were, are, and will continue to be fans of those teams whether or not Jeremy Lin is around know and whatever team he goes to next will eventually find out as well unless Lin is given the starting PG spot and plays significant minutes during the game and in the 4th quarter. Lin's mere presence on the team has been a divisive force within the internet fan base for various reasons. It started originally with him being compared to Kyle Lowry and Goran Dragic by Rockets fans, his supporters insistence that he was one of the top PGs in the NBA and was being held back to which there was always some kind of statistical analysis to support this notion, and eventually spiraled into claims of things such as bullying by his teammates and racial discrimination. I'm just done. No offense to him. I think he is a good player and an even better person, but yeah...
That stuff about "true" fans is honestly just childish and I would hope that mods wouldn't be making divisive comments like that but I understand that there is not a maturity threshold for RealGM posters or mods. Lin is not the divisive force- you are.
Basketball is a sport and there are all different kinds of fans. Fans who began to follow the team since Lin joined deserve just as much respect as you or anyone else. And some fans, who I found to be perfectly rational and logical, who were more likely than others to use actual stats to support their arguments, felt like Lin was getting the shaft by McHale and the coaching staff. It doesn't make them rabid or irrational or deserving of any of the vitriol they received on Clutchfans or any other site. The Clutchfans admin and mods such as yourself perpetuate hatred of other fans and create divisions using and allowing use of terms such as LOF and such. Really it's just childish, bullying, and hateful and if you have a moderator role, you should strive to rise above it.
I don't really care enough to get into a drawn out debate about it, and I guess I shouldn't expect more from sports boards, but I just don't like to see online bullying behavior over such silliness and wish that people treated each other better.
