You don't seem to be very optimistic.

Anyway this Isola guy has no clue.

No one has any clue, but Melo. All these tweets are just people expressing their opinion. And the tweets with sources claiming anything could be nonsense.

In the end there is definitely good chances he goes back to New York.

According to Stein, Bulls don't feel as confident about luring Melo away from NY, which is why their interest in Gasol is so high.

None of the Bulls writers have mentioned a lack of confidence yet. In fact, its been the exact opposite.

I thought Carmelo would decide by this Monday or at the latest Tuesday. But, that World Cup Finals is a week and a half from now. It's not this weekend -- but the 13th.

Ah. Well of course he'd have it done by then. Nobody ever thought it would go beyond the end of the moratorium, did they?

Can you tell how much World Cup I've watched? (And by that I mean basically none)

Jersey sales and shoes sales would go through the roof here. I think the 1st year Rose was injured he was still top 5-10 in jersey sales.

Exactly. Chicagoans will freaking literally pitch a tent and wait for some shoes. When Rose won MVP his shoes sold so damn fast you would think he was the only Adidas guy. Melo would probably gain more money in sales.

Isola has always believed that Carmelo wasn't going to leave money on the table and leave the Knicks. That tweet shouldn't come as much of a suprise to anyone who follows him/watches him on Around The Horn.

that's just a speculative statement. He means "his deal, whether it be Chicago or NY, should be done by then." Nothing to see here.

Well actually we had a NY fan in here earlier claiming Isola was a hack when he was giving posotive Bulls tweets. Now that he has negative Bulls tweets I bet they like him more

no he's still a **** idiot.

he has no sources. the knicks don't even let him ask questions or interview players anymore because he has pissed off the entire organization.

whatever he says is pure speculation, you can take that to the bank.

Yep. If anything, I was shocked with how positive his piece on the meeting with the Bulls was toward the Bulls pursuit.

The Bulls brand worldwide dwarfs any Knick brand that may exist worldwide because of Jordan and Jordan alone. Melo will Make MORE in Chicago.

No Jordan dwarves it not really the bulls brand. The Knicks are on equal footing if not better.

Jordan and the Bulls and one and inseparable. Every great moment in his career, he's wearing a red or white jersey with the word "Bulls" on the front.

Please stop with the delusion that the Knicks have any value other than their location and their stadium.

Regarding contract, wouldn't the bulls offer a three year deal however the money works to acquire his bird rights and then renegotiate, I don't know much about the cba but that's how I see it

Waiting for Woj who surprisingly has been quiet on "Melodrama" reporting.

Not worldwide they aren't. And it's not close frankly.

Bulls fans outnumber Knicks fans on Facebook 3 to 1. It's not close. The Bulls, the Lakers, and the Celtics are the true blue bloods of the NBA.

The Gasol stuff doesn't make sense. Why target him when you have Mirotic waiting in the wings who you can sign easily if Carmelo wants to stay with the Knicks and lose?
Losing to get high draft picks and hoping they turn into franchise players is not some next level, genius move. That's what teams want to happen in any rebuild/tank or whatever you want to market it as.

MoneyMitch wrote:Melo also needs to look at the reliability of his team and coaches

Houston- Dwight and Harden are basically jacked up versions of Chandler and Smith in New York, McHale is a terrible basketball coach

Dallas- Dirk is very reliable, Monta is inconsistent but brings it, Chandler is soft at times but I think he performs better in a contract year. Carlisle is probably the best coach outside of Pop so there's that

Los Angeles- Kobe will make Melo take a backseat not even a passenger seat like in the back, they dont have any other players right now and they dont have a coach plus they have the new James Dolan

New York- We know the Knicks will look different likely upfront come 2015, Phil will groom Fisher this year and work from that point. The best thing going is we're his favorite team, he's a New Yorker and the money

Chicago- Most reliable teammates in terms of bringing it every night, probably the deepest as well if they dont have to move core guys like Noah, Rose, Gibson, Butler, McBuckets, Snell and bring Mirotic over plus get DJ and Kirk back plus Thibs the 3rd/4th best coach in the league

Chicago
New York
Dallas
Los Angeles
Houston

in my eyes in the order of where I'd go

especially since I dont see much of a difference between 15M and 20M in salary when I already made damn near 300M in my life

Chicago is the most reliable to change it's starting lineup throughout the season because of Rose and Noah's injury prone-ness.

injuries are a concern for every team

Dwight's back, Kobe's everything, Dirk, STAT, Rose, Noah

Yeahm injuries are a concern for every team let's compare Dwight to Rose

4 year deal, player option for the 4th year for Melo's security

Return to Chicago Bulls
