We have Taj, Mirotic an McBuckets who all can play the 4. We like Gasol.....

Im thinking Bulls might dump Taj, an go after a package deal of Melo an Pau possibly. Get Melo his money he is looking for.

Melo is likely taking a pay cut in NY.
I doubt be takes the full max. Phil Jackson is the zen master for a reason.

That is true, which may indicate the Bulls feel Gasol may want to come to CHI along with Melo. So they can meet with Gasol and ask him to help encourage Melo to decide on CHI.

BINGO...This is what I think too

We shall see soon my friend

Honestly, it is what it is. You only need an hour to tell him what you need to.

If he goes back to NYC, it's about his family. End of story.

I remember after every loss last year the Knicks board was like this

"Melo's gone"

"F him he gutted the team(lies) and he's a fat chucker"

"He's the only one playing good"

"He wont pass the ball he holds it for 15 seconds every possession(lies he holds it under 4 seconds every touch on average)"

"He's a bum he takes 30 shots to get 30 points(lies he didn't do that once last year)"

"This is why we cant have nice things"

"Give me rookie Landry Fields over prime Melo, Fields was more fun to watch"

If Lebron would have stayed in Cleveland that would have been ok because we built a team that could have had handled them.

Carmelo I believe just wanted to be recruited since this is probably will be his last chance, for him to uproot his WIFE, kids and I think he truly loves New York. Then you had all that money he would be leaving on the table and just because he comes to the Bulls there is no guarantee we win either.

The bad thing is time, so much time has passed since the end of the season when he probably couldn't wait to leave the Knicks but now Phil comes in, makes a couple of moves already and you know he is in his ear all the time.

If he indeed goes back to NY please don't put too much money into this Gasol thing, only sign him unless you can get away with a modest contract, don't handicap this team for future free agents with him.

If you can't get Love in a trade then I think its ok to settle with Mirotic, McDerm, and a healthy Rose as additions, keep Boozer as a backup and try again next off season.

Please please don't do nothing stupid like 2010!!!! PLEASE!!

I REALLY do not want Boozer back, but keeping him as trade chip makes sense. Get Mirotic over here now.

Melo isn't coming.

With the whole sources say, "Done deal: LeBron and Bosh to Chicago" madness from 2010 I'm not believing anything is done until the ink dries. A bunch of posturing going on. No one doubts that Melo likes NYC, let's just wait and see.
"I take it very seriously, knowing my opponent really wants to come at me. It's not just God's gifts. You have to work at this game. If not, you're just going to be average. You have to want it and do whatever you have to do to get it."-D.Rose

Mavs had to have gotten a sense he wasn't coming there or that he was set in NY so they didn't take their meeting for long
Kris Bryant will go down as the greatest Chicago athlete after MJ

edit 7/30/21: okay maybe not, but it was a fun ride nonetheless

I haven't engaged with you yet :banghead:

But you're in for a rude awakening.

The only thing NY has going for them is the money. If Melo is gonna take a paycut to win..lol why the hell would he take a paycut and stay a Knick? It just doesn't make sense. None, bro. None.

He's not interested in playing with the same guys as last year in a tougher conference IMO with a small JR Smith and Dirk who operates in the same space as Melo

Dallas should go get Deng IMO

Seriously Mavs, just go get Deng. He's a perfect fit there.

Return to Chicago Bulls
