I think the Gasol interest is because he's BPA. This free agent class is not very impressive, although I expect us to still pursue Love.

Btw i'm late to the party, why are we feeling pessimistic on getting Melo now?

If Melo doesn't come to Chicago...I'll be heartbroken but it isn't the end of the world. The Bulls still have a pretty damn good roster. They'll do whatever it takes to put a championship contending team.

For the record, I whole-heartedly believe Melo is coming here.

Honestly, it is what it is. You only need an hour to tell him what you need to.

Mavs had to have gotten a sense he wasn't coming there or that he was set in NY so they didn't take their meeting for long

Mavs also said they weren't offering MAX money.....so no max an western conference isn't a good thing imo

A sense?

If he wasn't atleast considering going to Dallas, he wouldn't of met. They would of been off the list.

Mark Cuban is a business man, lay the plan out and go hop on a jet...

I'm a little nervous the Bulls aren't even interested in Kevin Love.

If Melo doesn't come here, he better get use to going up against a stacked Heat team, stacked Bulls team, a good pacers team, solid Hawks, Wizards and Hornets teams.

Anyone who is worried by this:

should read this:http://deadspin.com/how-frank-isola-became-the-most-hated-man-at-madison-sq-478620919

Kinda hard to trust a reporter who's not even trusted and even warned about by the team he's covering...

No Jordan dwarves it not really the bulls brand. The Knicks are on equal footing if not better.

Jordan and the Bulls and one and inseparable. Every great moment in his career, he's wearing a red or white jersey with the word "Bulls" on the front.

NBA Popularity rankings: http://allball.blogs.nba.com/2014/04/03/which-nba-teams-are-most-searched-for-on-google/

Please stop with the delusion that the Knicks have any value other than their location and their stadium.

Ok you got me I am totally wrong. That is why we get all the free agents. Jordan and he did play for the bulls is still hugely marketed. No doubt. To say the Knicks aren't though is I don't know strange to me personally. New York is huge. So is LA. They have been basketball wise too. Smaller markets like boston and Miami with Lebron are too. Chicago is famous for some things, the Jordan bulls and Capone maybe oprah are tops. I won't consider ultimately that the bulls are a bigger brand than Jordan is though. Perhaps I am wrong.

lol the overreactions - all it takes is a little speculation by mark stein and everyone is in panic mode.

You guys realize that Miami had 'interest" and was going to meet with Stoudemire and Joe Johnson in 2010? Didn't mean they freaked out and moved on because broussard speculated that lebron would go to the bulls.

IMO...I feel like Gibson has a chance to be a All Star this year. Plus you keep your assets an Mirotic. Love could be a 1 year rental.

I doubt that's the case.

It's not the west, so honestly, it really doesn't sound very frightening at all.
