So now its just Deng and Pau in terms of guys who can improve the Heat enough to possibly convince LeBron to come back.

Hopefully he has more pride and ring chases with Houston rather than Heat. Houston could use a PF like him, especially as cheap as they could get him.

Anyone remember what the rules for bidding on amnestied players are?

BWG, your poll in the general board is hilarious as most Lakers fans are just laughing at Lebron joining the Suns. Do they think the Lakers have a better shot at him, or are they just delusional Lakers fans?

We should be rooting for Miami to get Boozer. Imagine how hard LeBron is gonna laugh when finding out that Carlos Boozer was the big outside FA signing that Miami had

What about teams over the cap? Can they bid or just under the cap teams?

They're rude man, isn't the idea of a message board to contribute something to the discussion?

bwgood77 wrote:I didn't see anyone talking about LeBron going to Phx on the General Board, like it wasn't even a consideration. So I decided to start a poll, and see what general fans thought.

I figured we would be at the bottom. But lo and behold, the general fan has us as the leader (unless it's all of you voting). I see Pass Warden did. I haven't yet.

If you see it, please hold off on voting now....lets see what others think. I think it would be interesting to see that others felt Phx was his best bet, and a good sign that we all are not just being homeristic.

Of course then we can all vote an hour or so later if we want and really impact it. But try and let fans of other teams chime in first if you can help yourself.

Edit: Oops, since I posted it, it has changed. We haven't even talked about him joining Kyrie, Wiggins, Thompson, Varejao?

Waiters and Bennett off the bench? I hear Bennett is in phenomenal shape and looking good.

While the Kyrie, Wiggins, LBJ triad SOUNDS nice, Wiggins has yet to play an NBA minute, and even if he's as advertised, I don't think that team gets past the Pacers or a healthy Bulls team, especially if the Bulls add Melo. In 2-3 years they'd be elite, but is LBJ willing to sacrifice those years? I doubt it.

if mcdo makes the dragic-rondo trade, he will not survive this season.

SportsTalkZak is based out of Indy, and its not a new troll account, it was opened in 2011.

I dont know how the 3way would work, or if its even a 3 way or just Indy talking to Us and Boston about obtaining a PG (Dragic or Rondo). Seems like if they lose Stephenson then they want to upgrade their PG spot, and who can blame them.

I sent that tweet to gambo. He retweeted it after I sent it so it's news to him.

Houston makes a ton of sense, but they'll be in a holding pattern until Melo is resolved.

I don't know if you saw the Kobe tweet thread on that board, but I responded and some Lakers fan ripped me a new one. Huge ****. I even gave him a nice reply and he probably felt bad and I think gave me an And1 and might have given a decent response. If it's still there, check it out.

LeBron to Cleveland may make the most sense if he's looking at legacy. But frankly, I don't like their talent. I wonder if LeBron does. I'm sure he has a problem with their owner, just as I'm sure he's got a problem with ours. But man, what a story! And you know they'd be competitive, because it's LeBron James and the Eastern Conference.

We'd be a helluva lot more fun. And we'd give him the ability to bring along whomever he wants. I'm sure we've offered him keys to the kingdom: "Here's our roster. All of these contracts are movable. Do what you want with it."

Really, though no one's talking about it, I'm starting to think it's down to us and Cleveland. I mean, he probably doesn't win the championship next year with that Cavs roster, right? But here... well, a lot depends on what else we'd do. If it's Love or Melo, I think we're the best team in the league. But who knows?

Edit: One more thing. I think being the captain of one of the most exciting teams in basketball history (which we could be) would do wonders for his legacy beyond what he could achieve in Cleveland. It's about what you do on the court more than the jersey you wear while doing it, IMO.

I saw that one

It's crazy how no one on the GB thinks we have a chance for lebron. It just makes too much sense. But it'll make it even sweeter when he does sign with phoenix.

Can someone post the Sam Amico tweet stating that LeBron has began the process of evaluating teams other than the Heat? I don't know how to do it on my Ipad.

Most likely not. And I hope not. He had a good game or two but overall he was just hurt and too old to really make an impact.

Even without LeBron, we have way too many guards already in Bledsoe (assuming he gets resigned), Dragic, Green, Goodwin and Ennis. Hard to find playing time for Barbosa too among all that.

I'd rather have Gasol than Melo or Love at this point, and no I'm not high. Here's why: to get Love we'd have to trade A LOT, probably Len, the Morrii and Green, plus picks. This hurts our depth severely, while also limiting our salary flexibility. I'd rather sign Gasol at 10m/per, resign Frye, and use the remaining cash to bring in a guy like Nick Young if we need another shooter, Al Farouq Aminu if we're looking for a younger cheaper PJ Tucker replacement, or a Jordan Hill if we need a banger.

Just had a thought...

Caron Butler is a free agent, if he was willing to take vet minimum...I think McD would love to have him around as a mentor to Warren, and he's still got some burn left in him as a rotation player.
