I hope that the day we play the Bucks in Barclays, his jersey is taken down from the rafters.

Re: Thoughts on Jason Kidd leaving Brooklyn after one season
He's a selfish opportunistic piece of s***
He acted in concert with everything this franchise did. He attended the new training facility press conference and spoke so highly about the Nets organization knowing he was about to screw us over the very next day.
He basically tried to steal the job of the guy who helped him land the head coach gig and trying to leapfrog everyone in the Bucks organization all at once for a position of power. You can't be more evil than that.
I never want to see him step foot in NY ever again. He can go to hell.

i hate kidd probably more then anyone here. and was bashing the signing and hell bashing him even back when we were in the finals with him. i despise the dude.
But....
i have to disagree on your view of what went down. the guy came here, and he was on board. he rolled with what he had, it wasnt working. he changed the culture and identity. that had much better success. king then forced lopez on him, wouldnt agree to move him. so kidd then basically had to make a play for kings job, in order to get lopez out of town.
nets didnt go for it, so kidd bounced
still a d-bag move, but if the gm is gonna force guys on you that you dont want its probably not the best place for you. lopez is like the worst possible fit for how kidd wants to play

Going by what the article said, he wouldn't agree to move him for his specific trade idea which was terrible and would've been shot down by ownership regardless.
If Billy King made that deal, Kidd would have a legit excuse to use the "no long term direction" phrase to gain more executive power or leave without looking like a villain. It was a calculated tactic.

If you hate Kidd more than anyone, despise him then I don't even want to know what what adjectives you'd use to desribe your feelings on Brook Lopez.

I like lopez. he is a good dude. quirky, friendly, hard not to like him as a person.
on the floor, when he is aggressive and motivated i like his game as well. but that simply isnt often the case, which is probably my biggest issue with him as a player. i just dont think basketball is a huge passion of his, unlike some of his other interests.
either way, i dont think you win with him in the type of system kidd was running. and i cant blame kidd for drawing a line in the sand over lopez

Re: Thoughts on Jason Kidd leaving Brooklyn after one season
At one point during my NBA fandom I tried justifying Kidd's loathsome actions from the past. "The domestic issue was so long ago that his wife forgave him and what not, maybe we should move on as well, right?"... "Man, he drove drunk, that's terrible, I'm glad he's owning up to his actions, though." Bla bla bla... It was hard for me to think of this guy as anything more than the NBA Player that made me fall in love with the game even if he did terrible stuff off the court. Hell, when he signed with the Knicks I quietly rooted for his personal success.
While it was definitely silly of me to not be influenced by his shady past and even worse of my to try and disregard it as irrelevant to my admiration of Jason kidd the basketball player, I'm glad THIS (ultimately irrelevant and not in the slightest as bad as a DWI and domestic abuse) went down the way it did because it FINALLY broke the illusions I had built. This guy was on the same tier as Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera in my personal rankings of favorite athletes. Which is ludicrous when you consider how perfect those guys are on AND off the field and how everyone considers them the ultimate class acts. But Kidd is everything but that.
Kidd has forever tarnished his legacy in my eyes. Yes I appreciate everything he did for this team and that I'm a Nets fan because of him, but this is the starting point of long lasting disdain I will hold for this guy. After I spent YEARS rooting for this guy on other teams, always attentive of his huge games, always wishing him the most success, I will now root for this guy to fail miserably. I want him to crash and burn like no other coach has ever done. I hope his reputation among other coaches, GM's and owners are forever ruined. I hope if and when he fails as coach of the Bucks that he's forever blacklisted from the league for his shady dealing. Jason Kidd can go f*** himself.

What a stupid argument.
Kidd knew Lopez was gonna be here coming in. It wasn't about Lopez, it was about power. He wanted decision making power immediately. Even if we traded Lopez, it wouldn't have ended there.
And the way he did it was BS. IF he really couldn't bare having Lopez on the team he could have just resigned. Instead he tried to make a power play and went to the Bucks while they still had a coach. Complete D Bag move. No respect.

of course its a dbag move. kidd is the biggest dbag in team history. he handled it horribly... that still doesnt mean he didnt have a valid reason for being upset. Billy King is a terrible GM and when kidd try to make a mvoe to improve us and dump lopez he wouldnt allow it. I cant balme kidd there. he was never going to win with lopez

He got noticeably boo'ed at home during our terrible start to the season. I'm positive he'll hear it from the Barclays crowd when he makes his return.Hello Brooklyn wrote:Do you guys think we will boo Kidd next year?

Re: Thoughts on Jason Kidd leaving Brooklyn after one season
I can't recall the last time the Nets were involved in a bad move and yet they weren't the ones who were looked at as the losers in the deal lol.
The ONLY reason I liked having Kidd as coach because of his potential to recruit players that would like to play for him. He has a connection with all of the star players and they respect the hell out of him for his on-court contributions.
I thought having Kidd as a coach and vets who would be able to speak highly of his coaching ability would be a positive going into negotiations with other stars who are interested in playing in BK.
But everything else about Kidd is easily replaceable and can be improved on so I'm not really worried about that. Right now, we can only bank on players looking at Proky's open wallet and thinking that he'll do everything in his power to improve the team no matter the cost.
As I mentioned in the beginning, Kidd is the one who looks like the total idiot here.
He leaves the biggest market with solid players who should be able to make the playoffs every year for the foreseeable future for a bottom-feeding small market team with no real ability to attract stars.
I thought Proky's money + Kidd's on-court reputation + NYC was an awesome marketing combo.
While Proky's money + NYC is still pretty good, Kidd's reputation is no longer seen as good amongst players and everyone else now basically sees him as a douche.
Kidd wasn't going to make MIL attractive even if he went there to coach first. But now after the Brooklyn fiasco, he might even be a negative and because of that I don't really have that much anger towards Kidd. I'm just laughing at how much he cost himself and basically dug his own grave.

kidd went from retired, to high salary coach, to soon president of operations. in like a 3 year span. i dont think he looks like a "fool".
the nets are fools for hiring a rookie coach who just retired and then forcing him to use a player he wanted no part of.
should have never hired him to start. he is a hall of fame a-hole coming off a dui/crash who was sure to cause issues at some point
