He projects to defend the 1 and 2 position effectively and even the 3(though i highly doubt at the nba level). You can't really find that in FA. Now these are all projections of what DW could be and FA are more proven. My point is that GRIII could very well not see any minutes this year if his skill set doesn't develop quickly. DW with his skll set should at the very least get looks this year. Your right at #38 if both end up bombing out the league, i don't think either of us would really think twice.

I was under the impression DW was more of a sg who could play some pg. And he's also unlikely to play much if at all this season because he's going to miss summer league and training camp while he recovers. Because of that, I'd be pleasantly surprised if he got any playing time this year. It'll be very hard for him to come in mid-season and find playing time as a rookie.

He's most definitely a PG , but possess the Skillset to score. I think as the season gets deeper, he'll eventually see minutes as he adjust. Especially when you look at the fact he only has SIVA and Bynum to beat out, of which neither can shoot consistently.

Please can we not overhype our second round draft pick like we did with Tony Mitchell and Peyton Siva -__-

I'm just hoping that DW can find a spot in the rotation, and that's really all anyone should expect from a second round pick.

I admittedly am not entirely familiar Vonleh's game. My comparison was as I stated, based on the previous poster's description of Vonleh. Keep in mind Frye had a monster NCAA showing and final season in Arizona. Back in the day he was reputed to be another in the line of next great powerforwards coming into the league.

When New York drafted him back in the day, he was thought to be the untouchable gem of their draft class. The guy could post. He could face up and shoot it from long range. He could take bigs off the dribble. And he was at least thought to be a pretty decent rebounder. His game seemed to be scaleable (capable of growth and additions).

As for Vonleh and his vaunted toughness, I guess time will tell when he starts playing in the league. I will have to keep an eye on him and see which player he best resembles. That being said, who would you say Vonleh is comparable to?

If Vonleh pans out? I guess Aldridge is his upside.

That's a really high bar you've got set for Vonleh. It will be interesting to see if he leapfrogs Cody Zeller as the starting pf. If he does, he may not be able to put up big numbers beside Al "the Black hole" Jefferson.

I said "if he pans out", but the potential is there. What can I say, this was a deep draft. Not like when LMA was drafted.
