Trade Butler an open up some more money. He's a free agent next year anyway. Would give Melo about 18mil right?

Just hear on the sports radio here in LA Marc Stein is reporting that The Bulls and Rockets are out of the sweepstakes for Melo it's down to the Knicks and the Heat never expected Melo to come anyway

Technically yes, but the Bulls should be able to get roughly equal to it if they go all out cap clearing. We can get close to 17 before Gibson is even moved.

So Rerisen's scenario of the "threat" of signing Melo outright by trading Gibson for space and replacing him with a PF signed with the full (i'm assuming you meant this Re?) MLE is not possible?

With what type of currency is Riles going to pay Melo with? Monopoly money?

He couldn't land the likes of Gortat and Lowry, but he'll have enough cash to give Melo? Makes a lot of sense. :crazy:

When is he meeting with the Knicks? I would imagine that we'd have a very good idea of what's going to happen prior to that meeting.

I also can't see Phil doing the whole whining and dining thing. He'll wear his rings to the meeting. That'll be his sales pitch.

If we trade Gibson (and Snell) we could get to almost 24 million in cap space. We'd have enough for Melo and a PF and the RMLE.
