6'7'' 222 SG. I honestly think he has something left in the tank I think OKC wasw completely misusing him. I like the salary. 4 million isnt bad for his type of Defense.

Not sure this is the BIG SIGNING we were hoping for. Not sure what this does , is he starting over Korver at SG? I dont think so. Maybe.

He was the 4th option on OKC dont forget that. He had very productive seasons when they would pass, but the last 2 years has been the KD and RW show.

Sounds like a ferry signing, smart IQ, well rounded, cheap contract

Zach Lowe ‏@ZachLowe_NBA 12s

ATL needed wing depth, and Bud will free Thabo to let it fly from 3. Not far removed from 40% shooting. Prob safe to waive Salmons now, too

Perimeter defense.

What's funny...We essentially gave up Lou and Bebe for the cap space to sign this guy.

Yeah, I overreacted when I first saw this because I was still holding out hope for adding a big name. This signing tells me that we are out of the running. I also have him losing his starting spot to Butler's old ass fresh in my memory.

I trust Ferry though. I also didn't realize that Thabo shot 42% from 3 two years ago. Ferry and Bud will get the best out of him if he still has anything left.

if we make no other moves, I will not really be happy about that because I think Lou was worth the risk on his contract vs Thabo straight up.

Bebe makes it hurt even more because he COULD have panned out. We never know.

Trading Lou and Bebe for Thabo= NOT Megusta.

I like his defense and IQ, but not sure it makes sense letting those 2 go

Typical Ferry/Bud guy with a 7'2" wingspan. That's just ridiculous.

Great bench add IMO. More i look at it, we REALLY struggled without DMC on the floor, and really struggled without Korver. Maybe Thabo can alleviate some of that.

Lol at the reactions here. I was actually about to start a thread on picking him up. Thabo is better than Lou, better than Lou defensively and off the ball and actually has better vision with the ball.

The emergence of Westbrook/Durant isocentric offense made him disappear on offense in OKC, but his movement in the half court, passing ability, athleticism in the open court are all big pluses.

And we added a all defensive team level player on this team at the wing.

Misused? He had the easiest job in the league. Defense and stand wide open for 3 pointers. He not a creator or ball handler so not sure what other role he could have. I heard a stat during last year that Thabo had the highest ratio of wide open shots to contested shots in the league the last 3 years. He shot well in the past and maybe he will get it back.

Also Westbrook was out a lot of the year. Don't think suggesting that him and Durant taking shots was hurting Thabo. If anything not having Westbrook setting him up at times hurt his confidence. His shot was just broken during the year. If he gets his shot back it be a good signing. Shooting 31% pretty much on uncontested 3 pointers last year was terrible. He shoots like that again he not even a rotation player.

Did you watch the THUNDER at all last yaer? He was clearly not happy. Brooks has ZERO offensive system. NONE. Kd shoots, WB shoots, thats it.

Im not a fan of paying that much for a back up who is an offensive liability. He had to be taken out of the rotation in the playoffs cause teams were leaving him wide open and he couldnt capitalize.

Everybody was zeroing in on KD/Russ during that time, his role was reduced but you cant complain about his defense.

This "WOE IS US" Attiude needs to stop, seriously.

Anyone else think the deal was agreed to in principal? So maybe we haven't officially signed him so that we can still use the $15 mil of cap space before signing him to this contract: which is less than the MLE? Can we do that? I'm no cap expert.

YES! the deal can't be finalized until July 10th at the earliest. We still have the ability to maneuver and make other deals first. There's a strong chance we officially sign him last and use one of the exceptions to pay him.

I dislike at the present time with superior talent still available. As free agency progresses, we shall see what's occurs, and if this indeed a good signing or not.

Waste of cap space to take this guy who is a offensive liability and overrated defensively and he is no way better than Lou Williams

I love sefolosha..just don't like the cost it took to sign him. HOWEVER, I think ferry has something up his sleeve..the deal was agreed to in principal according to sources so it's not officially inked. I think we land a big name FA then use something like a MLE or TPE or some other exception to acquire Thabo.
