People think that because the Knicks flew out to LA to meet Melo that they're going to get him to agree to stay today.

That and the fact that Bulls "didn't discuss money" with Melo (per KC) has people very pessimistic.

I still think nothing has changed. He was always coming here, or not coming here. These pitches weren't going to sway him.

It's about money or it's about winning, can't be both.

Im on the horn as much as Windhorst.

This ish is taking a toll on me.

I dont want to give up hope, and i haven't. Just feels like a long shot.

I keep thinking about Carmelo alienating himself from NYC forever if he leaves? That might be more important than the money.

But Lebron left his home state because he needed a better chance to win. Melo always has Baltimore to go back too lol.

Maybe Melo just pops in the Chi for a few chip runs and retires a Knick...... PLEASE :-?

FOR THOSE CATCHING UP: There's really nothing to be depressed about yet. Everything thus far has been conjecture and opinion. No hard facts or quotes from reputable sources that say 'Melo is going to _______'. Hang tight.

With that said Lance might just be a better player to add.

Lance on the bulls could get you 18 pts or so. Melo on the bulls will get you 22 to 25 or so.

So Melo scores 7 more points. We all understand the NBA is a +/- game.

How many more point's can Lance hold his player down on D vs what Melo will do on D. i think anywhere from 4 to 8 pts easy.

With that said you can get Lance way cheaper keep your assets and maybe even add another player or two and fill out the roster. Not to mention he is lance is 7 yrs younger.

I just don't know how much Melo 7 pts or so on avg is worth vs Lance defense and ball handling.

I understand the Bulls need scoring and Melo is a perfect fit to provide that.

With that said Rose can score at a mvp level

Doug mcbuckets and Mirtioc can score as well. I also think Butlers scoring will increase some next yr as well.

With Butler and Lance on D they will give the other team SG/SF hell all game.

Get your lance **** out of our melo thread.

I need to figure out if homosapien is going to be taunting the zenmaster tonight or not.

I'm actually more worried about the random airport "encounter" with Joakim than I am any of these unsourced speculating reporters.

I think it would be better if you drove by and threw a slurpee at him while screaming "LA HATES YOU" and then drive back and throw a milkshake and scream "NEW YORK TOO, IM BICOASTAAAAAAAAAAL"

That's if you really love the Bulls.

if nothing else comes of this saga, at least i'll always have this post

That's not quite true. We do know that Mercury is in retrograde, and that LaLa is on her period. Which means that Melo may prefer to move to Mercury right now than any place LaLa is capable of reaching. It's all true because somebody wrote it down on a napkin and passed it to me.

The Lance Stephenson era won't be that bad

Noah
Taj
McBuckets
Lance
Rose

Baynes ( BAE )
Mirotic
Dunleavy
Buckets
Hinrich

Okafor ( minimum )
Cam Bear
Snell
Citizen Kane

That's still an ECF team IMO
"GarPax played Grab Ass with Mirotic for 5 years and been in Omaha playing Hide the Salami with Doug McBuckets for the 1.5 years and they've developed feelings for him. Well, I say "F feelings and F loyalty!" I want CHIPS! Jerry Krizause

Ugh, i don't want Lance..He doesn't fit the bulls style. Too many distractions on court aren't the Bulls style.
Basically another JR Smith in my eyes....I don't care for either and i hope management agrees.

Melo played in Denver nearly twice as long as he has in New York - and probably enjoyed more success there as well. Not sure if a sense of loyalty to New York is going to really be the key factor. I think it's about Money, Family, and Winning. Possibly in that order.

ramona shelburne on ESPN 1000

- cable exec was part of meeting James Worthy was part of pitch Thinks Kobe scheduled to meet with Carmelo after the knicks meeting which is pretty interesting cause its either Jackson getting last word or Kobe getting last word Jeanie Buss running meeting

- lakers still meeting with Carmelo

- Bulls meeting with Gasol in next 5 mins Thinks Bulls have the money that could talk to Gasol when Bulls miss on Carmelo but interesting thing is that latest rumor is that Carmelo wants to play with Gasol Cause you dont want to play with one star but with 2 Doesnt think the Bulls have the money to land both Gasol and Carmelo so thinks they are tied together with either the lakers or knicks Would be a good player for Bulls if they could land Gasol Very intelligent Not a first option for scoring but has plenty left

- thibs might hurt cause he has rep for playing players to many minutes san antonio is front runner cause pop not giving to many minutes during season Also heard durant and westbrook meeting with Gasol went very well Heard Gasol raved about that meeting

- Thinks Carmelo goes back to new york Heard that Jackson and Carmelo have really hit it off fisher and jackson sitting their with their rings could sway Carmelo Would have to have a rough first year but then 2015 cap space is there That said the lakers believe they have a real shot at landing Carmelo and Gasol could be the key If they can get Gasol back thinks Carmelo could come Lot of optimism coming out of lakers front office that last couple days concerning Carmelo Think they got a real shot
Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker......
