Broussard is so obviously a puppet for Phil that it's hilarious.

how is it anything but a good thing? players willingly taking less money means greater team profits and thus higher salary caps. and more money for players who actually want it (hello, avery bradley!)

Well to me the main thing is Nighttrain (I have no clue how reliable he is) came on saying that Melo was planning on staying in NY and was going around soaking up the recruiting pitches and trying to recruit other players to the Knicks. It was all laughed off as preposterous and then not much later Woj broke a story about Melo trying to recruit Gasol to NY. There was also Noah going to LA and people saying he was in LAX telling people Melo was staying in NY and a pic with him looking kind of ticked. Who knows it could all be BS but it honestly wouldn't shock me if it was true.

He's a FREE AGENT dude, wtf, he has the right to explore his options. If you played for the Knicks last year, YOU would also.

BRI /= team profits

It's hard to argue players deserve a larger percentage when the games best players are willingly taking less.

NBA free agency is such bullcrap. I can't wait until the 10th when this is all over with.

This is understandable and respectable. This isn't what he did, though. The dude said winning is more important than money. Only time will tell.

But if he'll take less to win titles...can't blame him for listening

What'd I miss in the last 5 hours?

Lakers offered a max and Knicks offered a supermax and he is done with both meetings?

Pretty much.
There's playing to win, then there's playing for your hometown that will pay you more then anyone else where your wife and kid are happily settled in.

I mean, I sure hope he comes to the Bulls, but I won't hate the guy for staying. I'll just be indifferent towards him, like I was before this whole thing.

Edit: I'll take this further in saying that if he doesn't come, the front office doesnt' really deserve much blame. They did what they could. Nothing they do could change the fact that NY can offer him more money, its his hometown, and his family lives there happily.
