In today's social-media frenzied world, you honestly think Noah is going to break news like that to some stranger at an airport? How many other people has Noah told this to so far? Maybe he should inform the drive thru at In and Out.

Joakim is not just gonna blab to some guy at the airport. Get serious.

I'm a little worried about the report Melo asked Pau to go to NY. (But how would that even work?) But don't be worried about the dude at the airport lol.

He broke LAX AND Gasol news but he is lying about Melo?

He said the Noah was in LA. He didn't know what Noah was there for. None of us did. But we all sort of assumed that he was there with the rest of the Bulls brass to recruit Gasol. It wasn't that hard to figure out. I would bet a good bit that the Melo part was a fabrication. I have lost bets...but I'd feel pretty good about this one.

He clearly states in his timeline that Noah was there for Gasol.

I agree. Not saying the report was true, but its plausible.

As for the rest, if Melo is talking Pau into going to NY its a wrap. Time to move on. Get me some LOVE!!!!!

I think we could have appeared more flexible, which would have made our presentation stronger. Yes, it most likely wouldn't have mattered.

We are Bulls fans here and we obviously think a lot of the team.

Other people might not. Well, quite frankly, they don't think as much of the Bulls as we do.

If melo leaves NY, he is automatically going to give up $30M. He would be doing so for one reason: To win.

The Bulls strategy was pretty smart. They did everything they could to make it look like they were the choice to make if Melo decided to prioritize winning over money. That included Taj.

With the reports rolling in, it seems as if Melo did not prioritize things that way. It was always about this:

and the Bulls had no shot. They never could compete with $130 million dollars.

.......

If you believe the last few reports: LA offered Melo a straight up max offer and he isn't considering them. Dallas probably did too. If these are true, Melo is deciding between money (NY) and winning (Hou and Chi).

None of us know what Melo is thinking.

Guys. This is what coldfish has been talking about. Now that Melo has a max offer from LA, he has something to leverage against NY. There was likely a no chance he signed with the Bulls for our cap space. And NY didn't have a reason to feel pressured to do a S&T. That has changed.

It's a simple message, but the money we had to offer was just too low. A four year max deal and a team of Rose/Butler/Mirotic (maybe)/Noah was an excellent balance of money going his way, along with the potential to win. I think that was the sweet spot.

Nothing has actually happened, but posters here are convinced the FO is damaged goods. It's okay though, because most of them don't realize how the NBA works.

What should they have done differently? I ask that of anyone that is positioning themselves to throw a kiddie tantrum against the front office for basically handling the situation almost flawlessly.

1. They should of talked money at the meeting

2. They should of had Rose in recruiting mode way before he was able to open his mouth about the topic

And my point wasn't just the Melo talks. It's been going on for years and years. If it keeps happening it ain't bad luck. There is a reason we can't trade for a sign anyone of significance. No one demands to be traded here. That is about recruiting on selling yourself. Good recruiting college coaches can go to any team and recruit top talent. Same in the NBA with good GM's and owners. It may not always lead to winning it all but it puts you in the ball game.

I'm sorry if I come off like an ass when I say this, but those have to be two of the most lazy, piss poor recommendations that I have seen. For one, we don't know the extent to which money was talked about money in their meeting. Even if hard core figures were not discussed, I'm sure the topic came up in 9 damn hours of meeting. Seriously...don't kid yourself. Furthermore, we haven't heard much about the financial details of the Houston and Dallas meetings either. Yet, we've heard plenty about what LA and NY are offering. Look at each scenario and tell me if you don't see a recurring theme with each of them.

As far as Rose recruiting, he did what he had to do. The front office cannot force it's players to recruit. But when he needed to be there he was. Plain and simple. This isn't college, it's the pros. And yes, there is a huge difference. The Mavs have never landed big free agents despite there efforts. See Williams, Howard and coming soon...Melo. For all of their success, the Lakers haven't always landed the big free agents either. Sure, they got Shaq. But Johnson, Worthy and Kobe were all drafted. They traded for Kareem. I could go on and on.

@chicagobullsbot: Chicago Bulls Joakim Noah has told several people he believes Carmelo Anthony will re-sign with the New York Knicks. (Source: K.C. Johnson)

Really? Boozer got skewered for not giving effort as a Bull (and rightfully so). Have you watched Melo play? The only reason we want him is for his scoring. I'm just saying that I look at Taj, Noah, Butler and Rose and I see flat out effort guys. 4th quarter comebacks, diving for balls. That's just not Melo. Never has been.
