Cant believe that guy is blowing up in the internet

No way...random guy's cousin would never lie. Random guy's brother is kinda shady though and don't get me started on random guy's sister. Ugh

Red-Bulls83 wrote:So has it been reported when Melo will make his final decision?

If a decision is already made, it'll come down tomorrow late afternoon-early evening so it'll be in the news cycle over the long holiday weekend.

If a decision isn't made by tomorrow afternoon, it'll be held back until Sunday evening and then dropped for the Monday news cycle.

You guys need to relax. For all we know, this could be a ploy for Melo to exit NY with near max money and convince the fan base that he tried bringing in help but failed to do so. I mean, will Pau sign a $3M to NY or $5M with Chicago or OKC?

It's funny because it's true...

If Rose can recruit poor people to buy his shoes he can recruit top 10 players in the NBA.

The real issue is that we've been paying the superduper max for no production. I think it's a feature in the FO's and Thib's cap that we were able to compete with that financial drag. But as for blaming Derrick, I can't. He was the youngest MVP in league history.

I'm really hoping the Bulls FO didn't just offer Melo that 16 mil starting out. I really hope they talked about sign and trade scenarios as well.

Its really unprofessional of KC to write that up based on an internet rumor. If he didnt get solid confirmation on that he should lose his damn job.

say what you will about the guy, but he is as professional as they come. This must be true.

KC said Bulls won't trade Deng for Bynum...

Then they actually did... KC lost his trust with me after that one.

I...did not know this

If the Bulls had a trade lined up to dump Taj for capspace, do you think they would advertise it publicly? Hells no.

Do you think they would make it clear that it was in the deck to Melo's agents? Hell yeah

....

I really think you are overestimating the team left in the capspace scenario. Its really bad in that you don't have a starting PF . . . like, at all. If you openly present that situation to Melo and tell him to take $30M less to join that team, is it really going to be a positive?

Think about it as a non Bulls fan:
Rose -> Injury risk
Butler -> Meh
....
.....
Noah

With some picks and rookies to fill in at some point in the future.

Explaining the whole "dump Taj for capspace" thing in detail was not a winning hand and not a balance.

The winning hand was always the sign and trade based teams. Melo gets his money to go onto a team that can immediately contend. That's effectively what Chicago presented (to the best of my knowledge).

So wait. Under your scenario Taj is the difference between contending and being real bad? Wow. Talk about overvaluing a player.

Lol.

What I am saying is that a team without a PF cannot win a title. That would be the capspace scenario. And let's not forget, with a sign and trade they also get the MLE.

I'm sure the Bulls could eventually get a replacement for Taj but why would Melo come to Chicago and have to wait for a year for that to happen? He can do that in NY for the extra $30M.

That's why I would have drafted Payne as part of a 3 headed monster at PF. This way you dump Taj (and offer Melo a $20+m starting salary). Then I think Gasol would be a shoe in and you roll with Gasol/Payne/Mirotic (after the other dumps).

Worst case scenario Meli doesn't sign and now you've got a ton of assets (Gary Harris too?) to package in a trade for Love or another potential disgruntled star that will inevitably come along.

Meh. All these entertainers (athletes, singers, actors etc.) need to take a step back and realize that they're lucky as hell to be making this kind of money, and that 99% of the world don't have 1/20th of what they have.

Honestly, Melo had a chance to write his name in the records book with a championship. Take 15 mil. The kids graduating from prestigious universities like Harvard, Penn, and Stanford can't even fathom making 15 mil in a year. It's crazy how much money these guys need to feel secure.
Derrick Rose will do 1 of 2 things in the 2014-2015 NBA Season: 1) Return to MVP form and prove you wrong, or 2) Fail to return to MVP form and prove me wrong. Either way, one of us will end up looking like an ***hole.

Lets assume for a moment this little rumor KC is referencing is true. Noah is basically saying Melo took the money instead of the best shot at winning.

In other words the most pessimistic posters were right.

Well we should find out more tomorrow. People shouldn't just start attacking people just because they hate what was posted. People read one thing and go crazy. Nothing is official and things can change instantly.

I love how both boards have all these people purposing trades and salary cap arrangements, all for things to come to a anti climatic end.

Let's say Noah got Melo to reveal his hand. Melo didn't plan on leaving NYK in a million years, and all of this is a ploy to be chased liked so man of the other superstars state is always a goal of theirs... To go through the bails and whistles whistles of free agency....

SO IF Noah knows all that time effort and energy was ultimately for not, and Melo is doing this for ulterior motives than " Actually winning at all cost and being willing to leave NYK" Then some one explain to me why he would give a damn about spilling the beans about Melo going back to NYK? To me Noah wouldn't care because he would see this ASA farce and just want the speculation to die since it isn't possible for him to leave. Melo could have told him outright " Nah bro, word up,I doubt I'm leaving at all, just out of respect."
