Rose and the new starting shooting guard (Stephenson ?) would add scoring ... Mirotic and McDermott are already developed players who will contribute immediately ... I know that people are still obsessed by the idea of Melo, but we would actually add more scoring to the team if we miss on Melo and take the more conservative approach ... Also, we would be in a much better position to make a move for Love at the trading deadline, especially if Mirotic and McDermott adapt well to the league and start contributing immediately, as expected ...
Yes, if the argument is that they will score enough not to be last in the league this year then I agree. Two rooks off the bench, Stephenson, and now you are going to have to ask Rose to be superman again this year coming off two knee surgeries is not getting the Bulls enough points to get past the Heat.
Adding (healthy) Rose, Stephenson, Mirotic and McDermott would get us into the top 10 scoring teams, if not top 5 ... I can understand that you are not very optimistic about Mirotic, if you haven't seen enough of him, but he is a developed player at the age of 23 who has been playing professional basketball at a very respectable level for the past 4 years ... He is ready to contribute ... McDermott was the top shooter in the college game, he has gone through the entire 4-year development cycle and has variety of offensive weapons ... He is ready to contribute ...
To summarize, a (healthy) team made of Rose, Augustin, Stephenson, Butler, Dunleavy, McDermott, Gibson, Mirotic, Noah and Smith would go through Miami like a hot knife through butter ...
Not exactly sure what we are discussing is relevant to what I am adding but Noah also adds value to the O with his pin point passing. Not quite sure you would define him as a creator but his passing can certainly be counted on.
