At that point Riley will be free to negotiate with every team in the league on S&T options, because there is not a team in the league that wouldn't love to have LBJ, and so long as it doesn't destroy the teams talent base Lebron is likely to oblige. LBJ will have control of what MIA gets back too, because he can just sign with one of the other teams, if MIA doesn't take it. PHX will still be compelling because we don't have to lose pieces, but here are some scary thoughts:
to OKC for Ibaka, Perkins (exp.), Lamb Creates a Westbrook, Jackson, Durant, LBJ, Adams lineup
to GSW for Bogut, Iggy and a pick Creates an opportunity to join LBJ with Love and Curry
to BKN for Lopez and Garnett . Makes Williams, Thornton, Johnson, LBJ, Plumlee
or even to WAS for Nene, Porter, Miller creating a Wall, Beal, Webster, LBJ, Gortat lineup
There are others out there. My point is, just because he decides to leave MIA doesn't mean Riley won't fight for him through S&T options to make sure he doesn't get left empty handed after 4 good years together. I am still hoping Bledsoe and a Robin to his Batman will be enough to lure him out. Interestingly enough Hornacek was not on the recruiting trip. It's possible Sarver and co will leave that option open. I hope not, since I really like Hornacek so far, but the option may be out there.

The whole "not playing for a bunch of teams in his career" thing could be a factor too. Even if he isn't sure, he makes many good points. Food for thought, if nothing else.

Not one of those trades makes any sense.

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.
Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Not really. If you had all the money in the world, would you work for someone who tarnished your name publicly after you left employment? I sure as **** wouldn't. Also, Cleveland really isn't in any position to contend. Irving is nice but who else? You can't say Wiggins because for all we know, Warren could be just as good as he is. They haven't shown anything yet in the NBA.

cosmofizzo wrote:Cleveland would have a harder time making a Love trade than we would, I think, because of the salaries, but I haven't looked that closely.

Not even close. Cleveland could offer up Wiggins/Varejao straight up for Love and The Wolves would take it in a heartbeat. If Cleveland wanted to keep Wiggins, they could offer the Wolves Waiters/Bennett/Varejao for Love and Minny would still take it.
