This entire situation is ridiculous. I know NBA is a SOAP opera, but FA signing process is a SOAP opera of the worst kind. Why do you guys pay so much attention to it and waste so much time worrying about it? Is it such a good entertainment that our attention to it should employ plethora of shady journalists? According to "reports" the main actor of that play is 30 year old dim wit, who can't make his mind like any responsible adult would. What do we supposedly know?
1) Anthony hates loosing, yet he supposedly recruited some players to come to NY (that NY team that was a train wreck and there is little chance they can right the ship quickly, meaning next year).
2) Anthony values chance to win championship over money, yet he is also in the talks with teams whose only sales pitch is money.
3) Anthony prefers Bulls, Mavs, Houston, but also Lakers and he even considers staying with Knicks. Do those teams have anything in common? Few immediate championship contenders. Few teams with big issues that have to be solved, meaning a delay before returning to contender status. My bad, there is one thing in common - big enough stage to satisfy someones ego.
I am not saying Bulls is the best destination for a chance to be on a championship contending team. Houston and Mavs could be that. Still looking at Anthony's "reported" actions he transpires as a guy with little focus on the thing our team is focused on. I know it is too hard to demand sincerity and straight character from a multi-million dollar diva in this day and age but I wish to see a FA that clearly states his objectives, stays on course during FA process and does not try to make circus of himself.
BTW, regarding some resentment on Rose not recruiting shown on the forum. If you think that Rose talking with Anthony could and should be deciding on Anthony's decision to join the Bulls then it would support my arguments on fickleness of Anthony's character. Rose is not an unknown. If he is a prick then all around the league already know about it. We haven't heard reports stating that so the big chance is that is not true. By all signs Bulls locker room is not a cancerous environment either, otherwise they would not have so much success in recent years in spite of so much adversity. So what would Rose meeting with Anthony do? What should have Rose done? Buy Anthony a dinner? Send him some flowers? Cuddle him behind his ears? For a sport guys that look all macho more often than not I have a feeling they are bunch of sissies.
The entire recruitment controversy seems like an immaterial "issue" picked up by media to add to entire FA hysteria, another tool to stir the pot and keep spectators occupied.
