Joe Cowley was on 670 this morning and he made it a point to emphasize how isolated and not plugged-in Derrick Rose is. He recounted a story from last year where a reporter told Derrick that a lot of fans were beginning to turn on him, and Derrick seemed genuinely surprised at that. Cowley went on to say this is because Derrick does not follow the social media world, twitter, facebook, etc. He's very isolated from all that
Yeah he is awful with the media. He is really really sheltered which is fine. I think Addidas regrets that way more than anyone though.
Derrick is pretty clearly an introvert. Introverts brains literally work different than a normal persons. We pile all of these expectations on his shoulders, and we are disappointed when he doesn't act the way we believe he should, but it really isn't fair because those qualities are not an aspect of his character. That said, he does himself a disservice by living in a bubble shaped by Reggie and his manager. He will be out of touch because of the faith he puts into his handlers, which has the potential to come back to bite him someday.
being an introvert does not entail isolating yourself from social media though. I've never heard that before. Introverts are generally pretty good about keeping up with info on the internet.
I mean put it this way, introverts dont usually have a problem socializing on the internet. It's in real life when it becomes a problem.
the fact that Derrick chooses to isolate himself so much is something else entirely, its way beyond common introversion.
