Nuthin, there was a flurry of news about OKC & SA interested in Gasol, then we flew out to meet with him, and we did meet with him at least once, possibly twice (reporting conflicts on this front), there has been no reporting whatsoever about how that meeting went, and now we're talking to Deng & his people.
Whatever happened in the Gasol meeting, nobody is leaking it either way.
You have to wonder if the flurry of interest in Gasol was in part an attempt to drive up his price right before we met with him....
That's what I'm thinking. Just like when people reported Heat were meeting with Lowry in the morning but that was fake lol
...which is why you try to keep it on the DL as to who your team is chasing and meeting with, so as to avoid other teams feigning interest when they really have none for no other purpose than to make negotiations difficult and drive up the price (if not kill the deal altogether)
I really don't think thats an issue here. Time is a limited resource during free agency for these teams. I think its more a case of false information spreading like wildfire from hopeful fans rather than teams feigning interest. It would take a very specific case for that to be beneficial.
Your emotions fuel the narratives that you create. You see what you want to see. You believe what you want to believe. You ascribe meaning when it is not there. You create significance when it is not present.

Heard this from my uncles sisters daughter who knows a ups driver who reportedly saw Melo Durant Both Gasols Ariza Monroe all at Riley's house. Lebrons mail man was there as a representative of lebrons.
The ups driver is having an affair with the maid, she said she overheard Riley saying all those players are signing here discounted.
Again take it with a grain of salt and a side of sugar with a bowl of Cheerios.
It's happening

Re: Official Miami Heat 2014 Offseason Thread 3.0 (Rumors/Ne
Whether this post is worthwhile to some, just wanted to add some grounded speculation.
There are really only two questions to ask here (1) Where would Lebron even go, say in the advent he leaves Miami?
All these teams clamouring to get him to join their own teams are doing the exact same dance they did in 2010. I find it hard pressed to believe any situation is better than the one present in Miami. Often people try to complicate things when the answer has always been the simplest. Wade, Bosh, and Lebron needed to opt out, an agreement whether prearranged or not had to be made to fit salary wise and Riley/Spoelstra/Miami's front office had to put in the due diligence to move forward. You could say the only misstep leading up to this year's free agency was them losing the NBA Finals, but someone always has to lose. Why they lost, how they lost, those are the broken pieces Riley was talking about leaving on the floor for the time being.
Just as Riley thought long ahead to 2010, they've obviously put in the work to plan for this moment now to make it last as long as they can. Words like 'dynasty' aren't just thrown around. So to preface on the question again, are the other teams he could go to, that much better of a choice? Championship mettle is built top down within an organization. Right now, even if Lebron were to personal take meetings with other teams, their real pitch to him is "we can do what Miami did better". That's a rather unbelievable statement, given the Heat's last four years - which were a complete success.
The second question to ask is (2) What is Riley's plan?
No one knows. And it's that mystery which adds both reluctant excitement and fear. The latter of which is being propagated by propaganda from Twitter, fake accounts, "Multiple Sources", etc. ESPN has always been the TMZ of sports and purposefully trolling on social media has somehow become a full-time job. It's all click-bait and even those 'sources' some regard higher than others are guilty of this. Teams are desperate to know how much cap space Miami is dealing with.
It's the reverse math to try to figure out what is the number for either a Lebron, Bosh or Wade and ultimately if you're another team they ask - can we do the same? Will that be enough? They don't know, no one knows. But the absolute feel of it, this plan, succeed or failure, when it happens, at this point it'll probably happen all at once.
Patience and perspective. But I guess it really doesn't help though that somehow the past five days of free agency has felt like three weeks.
