The ONLY reason I liked having Kidd as coach because of his potential to recruit players that would like to play for him. He has a connection with all of the star players and they respect the hell out of him for his on-court contributions.

I thought having Kidd as a coach and vets who would be able to speak highly of his coaching ability would be a positive going into negotiations with other stars who are interested in playing in BK.

But everything else about Kidd is easily replaceable and can be improved on so I'm not really worried about that. Right now, we can only bank on players looking at Proky's open wallet and thinking that he'll do everything in his power to improve the team no matter the cost.

As I mentioned in the beginning, Kidd is the one who looks like the total idiot here.

He leaves the biggest market with solid players who should be able to make the playoffs every year for the foreseeable future for a bottom-feeding small market team with no real ability to attract stars.

I thought Proky's money + Kidd's on-court reputation + NYC was an awesome marketing combo.

While Proky's money + NYC is still pretty good, Kidd's reputation is no longer seen as good amongst players and everyone else now basically sees him as a douche.

Kidd wasn't going to make MIL attractive even if he went there to coach first. But now after the Brooklyn fiasco, he might even be a negative and because of that I don't really have that much anger towards Kidd. I'm just laughing at how much he cost himself and basically dug his own grave.

kidd went from retired, to high salary coach, to soon president of operations. in like a 3 year span. i dont think he looks like a "fool".

the nets are fools for hiring a rookie coach who just retired and then forcing him to use a player he wanted no part of.

should have never hired him to start. he is a hall of fame a-hole coming off a dui/crash who was sure to cause issues at some point

How do we look like a fool if multiple NBA teams are following OUR trend? In hindsight, we should have never bothered but It was successful enough for other teams to consider hiring rookie coaches.

His introductory press conference and retirement ceremony speeches included similar lines. He is a con man and an opportunist.

how do we look like fools? the guy we just gave a ton of money to, wasnt even here a full calendar year. we made frank the highest paid assistant in league history, to appease kidd, and now neither is on the sidelines. not to mention the other several assistant coaches it required. we are going on our 4th coach in 3 years.

i dont think throwing a ton of money at coaches, succumbing to their demands and then having them walk is really the model of success.

it was a terrible higher from day 1. a rookie coach with a veteran win now team. investing in a guy who has already shown 0 loyalty and held your franchise hostage as a player.

Kidd made the Nets look stupid, simple and plain.

4 coaches in 3 years does not look good, no matter how you spin it. Godspeed Lionel Hollins.

Since this debacle has gone down, Kidd hasn't answered that question with a straight reply.

He knows he screwed up and that's why he's just replying with these short lies that are good for PR but don't acknowledge that he messed up big time.
