Any signing/trade that moves Knight to the SG is a move I'm a fan of. Get it done.

I think $6-$7 million per year on a 3 year deal would be a great value for Vasquez. That should be the determining factor for signings. It's way better value than Bledsoe at max and I can't even believe we're seriously discussing Lin here.
No way. He's a 20-25 minute a game backup, that is a huge overpay for our team. We shouldn't be paying over like $4 million a year for those type of backups.
3/10 or 3/12 would be my limit for Vasquez

Bledsoe would move us out of the top 5. That's where we want to be drafting our core players. I think his presence and improvement from others puts us late lottery.
I think we need some tank moves to stay in the top five next year. I think Kidd will coach up Sanders and Ersan to the tune of 24-29 wins.
24-29 wins was good enough for a pick 4-8 last year. Not the worst.

Just looking at guys getting 8 million or under
George Hill - Worth nowhere near that to our team.
Jeff Teague - Much better player.
Brandon Jennings -
Goran Dragic - Infinitely better player.
Jose Calderon - Better player, not worth that deal to our team.
Jarrett Jack - Bad contract, similar level player.
Andre Miller - Similar level player, paid less, not good fit on bad team.
Jose Barea - Bad contract
It would be an awful deal. He's worth even less than what Andre Miller is paid on a team like ours.

Eh, I don't know. Pencil in the Sixers and Celtics for sure, then we'll have TBD on Free Agency and trades. I think the Jazz have better players and I like Quinn Snyder. Magic probably have less talent than us. Twolves pending Love trade.
What is the deal with Bledsoe's meniscus? Can he do that a 3rd time on the same knee?
Go Bucks!

Your list and conclusion are incongruent. You list a bunch of players that would be making more than the deal I propose, dismiss those that are worse as bad deals, do not list a single guy paid in the range I specified who is a better player and conclude that it's an "awful deal." What?

Which is probably good for bottom 5 in the league.

I don't understand this thinking. The Bucks really did have the perfect storm of awful things happen to be the worst team in the league. Ersan had the worst year of his career, by far, and played injured. Sanders barely played. Our coach had no idea how to make lineups. We weren't worse than Utah, Orlando, Philly, or Boston if we are healthy all season. You put Parker and a huge upgrade at coach on top of what we had last season, and you think we will fall even further? I just don't see it. I think that Sanders plays, Ersan moves back towards his season averages, and that we likely have the ROTY, all while watching Giannis further develop. I think that we are picking closer to 10 than to 1.

Not really. I've provided a TON of backing and reasoning throughout this thread for my opinion. You provided nothing of use. Keep being a clown I guess.

Yes to acquiring assets along with getting Lin.
Yes to Bledsoe.
Hell no to Vasquez.

i'm all for getting lin. to say that's a win now transaction is being obnoxious. we literally have 3 guards on the roster. i guess middleton can play there a little, but he's really more of a 3.
be nice if we could get rid of ersan for a PG in some way.

Not sure. Obviously someone on the Bucks medical staff would need to vet this out thoroughly. When that injury happened, I thought he was out for the year.
But look at his game logs from March and April. Excellence abounds.

They clearly didn't need to make old Bucks like excuses about him needing time to get back into the swing of things. He picked right up where he left off.

Bledsoe on a big contract...
please god no, this team needs to focus on developing and keeping talent for 3 years from now, not sprinkiling in 5 more wins a season in the meantime and giving away talent + 1st rounders (likely).
I know he is 24, but it will likely cost us our 2015 1st to get this done (probably top 3 protected). No, no, no.
Roll with Knight. He's cheaper and has potential. Yes, he probably wont be as good as Bledsoe, but its not worth giving out a contract like that right now, nor is it worth burning 1sts now.

Exactly. No Bucks firsts, hence my idea of getting HOU involved.

I don't even know the point you are trying to get across. I pointed our everyone on that list making less than $8 million a year, pretty much average starter money. There's like two comparable players in Jarrett Jack and Andre Miller. One is an awful deal that the Cavs are looking to give up a pick to get rid of and one is being paid less than you suggest on a much better team.
$6-7 million for Vasquez would be an atrocious deal.

BigDoggyStyle wrote:Late lottery is a bit of a stretch. I don't see any way they don't get a top 10 pick. I'd put them somewhere in the 7-8 range at worst. There just aren't that many teams that will be that much worse honestly.
You don't see anyway we don't get a top 10 pick with a lineup of Bledsoe, Middleton, Giannis, Parker, and Sanders? It's very talented and the players complement each other well. It has the potential to make a playoff run even already if guys develop early. Parker was classified as the most NBA ready player from this draft, and Giannis the Bucks best player the first half of last season before hitting the rookie wall hard from being a skinny, lanky, growing boy and who had only played a small fraction of that in previous years. I would guess we eek into the playoffs. We certainly can get out of the bottom 10. That's hyperbole to say otherwise.
To wit, we might as well go for it a little further by trading a future pick (like Cinematographer suggested) because it doesn't project to be all that high, but I don't know if other teams would see that. We could get another young, long-term asset here similar to what Bledsoe was a couple years ago with the Clips. I'm thinking of Alec Burks for one. There is an extra impetus to start looking promising on the court sooner rather than later and to generate wins because of the upcoming arena vote. We got some momentum with the new ownership group, Parker, and Kidd. We'd have more with Bledsoe. Might want to keep this train rolling forward.
