I'm rooting for Argentina so I'll say 1-0

Both teams have no shame in falling out of this round.
Di Maria likely won't play, same with Aguero.
No De Jong for Holland.
Should be a classic, fellas.
I think Aguero will be available for the semis

I'll take the team with the better left-footed dribbler. Netherlands it is.

Lets go Netherlands!
I can see the dutch playing like the game against Chile, and i could see Van Gaal having a guy on Messi all the time, even more now that Di Maria wont play.

Messi has proven over the last 10 years that this doesn't work.

No, what works best is to have two guys around him. When he dribbles one he has the next one ready to stop him.
At least thats how Iran stopped him until minute 91 and Switzerland stopped him fairly well. Today he also didnt do much.
But without Di Maria all pressure to create will be on him.

I like the color orange so I'll take the Dutch.
Also, no Di Maria is a big blow to Argentina.

The antagonists of Oranje's greatness in the 70s ; Argentina and Germany.
Its only fitting that we beat the same 2 countries that denied Holland of becoming a true dynasty.

That formation was intended to not allow Costa Rica to park the bus the whole game, which they did anyways. I imagine we go to the same formation vs Spain, and hopefully start Janmaat over Kuyt in the process.

Just like in the 70s, we're to busy having more talent than everyone else to let that happen. Despite Jogi's best efforts.
How's that whole gunna get our ass kicked by france thing working for ya?
