A few of the senior partners are season ticket holders, and also do a lot of work with InCapital, which is owned by Tom Rickett, the Cubs owner. Anyway, word is, in the office, Melo's attorney's are heading into Chicago tomorrow. That is all I got.

One way or another, I just want this to end.

I still think he stays in New York and that this whole thing is a facade. Stating so is probably considered trolling around here.

If Phil's going to lose Melo, he'd rather lose him to his fiance than the Bulls.

Wonder what Jeannie and Phil are thinking right now.

I guess I'm not really understanding why the Lakers would be entertained as a possible landing spot. Even with a healthy Kobe he will still most likely not be his former self. It can be pretty difficult for an athlete to return to 100% after an Achilles tendon rupture; I perform Achilles tendon repairs and depending on the length of the tear and the possible need for grafting it can become difficult at times even in athletes to get the injured extremity back to 100% for strength.

That being said, even if Kobe came back 100% with Pau Gasol back on the roster, I find it difficult to believe that a Kobe/Melo/Gasol core with a young Randle and role players is going to do much damage in the WC. In fact, that may end up being a lottery team. Even if the Lakers were somehow able to swing a homerun ball for a Kevin Love for Pau Gasol S&T, I still don't see how that team becomes a contender. Stranger things in the NBA have happened but to me Melo going to the Lakers would be a huge head scratcher. However, and this is merely speculation on my part, I could see like others have said that Melo could use the Lakers as leverage to attempt to force the Knicks into a S&T with Chicago or even Houston. All Melo has to do is say "S&T me to X team or I will sign with LA and you will get nothing in return" and then the Knicks are forced to either call his bluff or actually lose their star player for nothing. It should be interesting to see how this all plays out.

I don't see how you can say we'd get slaughtered. We would have a hell of a team and we mmatcch up great with the Spurs who are still the favorites. Add Rose and Lamce and Mirotic, McBuckets to Jimmy, Da Bearstow Taj, Jo and some vets and We can play with anyone.

The top of the West is so much better than us. Spur, OKC, new superteam, Clips.

You can't win a championship without playing in the Finals. I'll take a free pass to the Finals and take my chances.

I'd rather have the best possible team. Even if we have to go through the Heat. They aren't invincible.

If you're going to try to use LA as leverage, why not use two of the biggest mouthpieces in Bill Simmons and Woj.

I still remember when we got excited because LeBron changed his taxes address (dont know what exactly, sure its not his address, but something tax related) to Chicago back those days when we were after him.

Or when Kobe's realtor was a "source".

remember he was shopping for houses in Chicago when he was supposedly coming?

No, the Knicks could actually salvage something out of this via S&T. If Melo says its between the Lakers and Bulls, the Knicks would want him to go to the Bulls via S&T so they can get some picks, mirotic, etc.

Trying to put this all together..

Maybe Bulls-Knicks have engaged in multiple team trade because Melo has told them Lakers if you don't get something done for me with the Bulls? Then maybe we're anticipating making a Taj for Gasol trade happen?

Not all wives are created equal. Some are damn cool when it comes to stuff like this.

Being a husband....the kind that wants to stay married for the rest of his life...means you put your wife first. Not wife 1a and career 1b. But wife is first. Some of the attitudes i see here go to great lengths to explain our divorce rate. Being a wife is not about being "cool". Its about being a wife. When you marry, your family should trump all. People don't live to work. They work to live.

I see nothing in there about the wife reciprocating and putting the husband at 1a and her career at 1b if the situation dictates it. If marriage is going to be a one way street and women take the attitude that they should always be 1a, that would go a long way in explaining divorce rates as well.

If it is all logical in this world, Melo would know how much he screwed NY by making them send all their good assets to Denver and by not giving them any leverage against Denver.

Hopefully, he has learnt his lesson and not repeating that mistake. If he is smart and he loves his Knicks, he knows they are not winning with him or without him for the next 3/4 years.

And, if he wants to play Dolan's psychologist...that man cannot be told to rebuild but has to be forced.

This thread has so many rumors with so many twist and turns that my head is spinning. I'm drunk and I haven't had any alcohol today.
