Oh, you mean like dismissively suggesting that being a wife is not about being cool (but rather some unnamed responsibility that defines being a wife), despite the fact that it should be plainly obvious that some wives being cool does not imply that that is part of their responsibilities as a wife or what they're about?
Or like going off on a tangent about responsibilities of a husband and family vs work when my post was about cool wives who like to do their part in a relationship?
Anyway, good luck on your marriage.

You didn't actually refute anything he said. I'm pretty sure we're all well aware of the moratorium. All we're waiting for is Melo.
$1500 an hour attorneys aren't going to waste time by flying in days in advance and wait for the moratorium to pass.
Why would they have to sit there and wait? Couldn't they negotiate and prepare the paperwork tomorrow and then file it when the moratorium ends?
Nope.
1. Official salary cap isn't released until the moratorium ends
2. Bulls don't even have an the final $ yet to know how much they could offer him as an outright free agent. They'd have to make several moves first before they'll know.

Anyway, word is, in the office, Melo's attorney's are heading into Chicago tomorrow. That is all I got.
So I didn't want to be just another Rando with a Source, but my Father and I have relationships with two Sr. Partners at Seyfrath Shaw LLP HQ'd in Chicago: One of the partners called me earlier this afternoon (b/c he knows how closely I'm following the Melo situation) and the other partner confirmed via text that Carmelo's Attorneys will definitely be in Chicago by tomorrow mid-morning.
NOTE: I've been a heavy-lurker throughout this Melo process, and wanted to take a moment to thank you all for helping me through this roller coaster of a week. My process has been: 1) Read latest breaking story from (insert that hack ESPN/Yahoo "Insider") 2) Dial into 4-way conference-call with my Bro's to discuss the legitimacy/effect of said latest news 3) Come here to read through latest 8-10 pages of latest Melo Thread 4) Re-calibrate my thoughts on whether we land Melo.
Right now, I am very confident Melo will be a Bull.

Within the next 24 hours, or the next few days or?
A lot of insiders are expecting the announcement within the next 24 hours but I think that he could actually drag it into Monday or Tuesday.

Tend to believe that if Melo is going back to the Knicks then he wouldn't need to bring the Lakers into the fold 24 hours before he says that. Now, I'm like 60-40 that the Lakers are leverage to get NY to trade him and Chicago to pay him his max and not actual interest in the Lakers, but I don't know. I do remember the 2010 decision and all week no one talked about Miami then Miami is talked about a day before out of no where and then all of the sudden "talents...South Beach...not 6, not 7"

Like some sort of flu, it passed, I'm over it.
So we don't get Melo. Pretty good team without him, and
the Boozer amnesty money will buy something good...
Screw it, Bulls and F/O did an admirable job in recruiting, but he chose the
Karl Malone Legacy route, cause he ain't winning SH*T in N.Y., EVER!

Melo's lawyers aren't here to negotiate a trade with the Knicks, they'd be here for whatever reasons Anthony needs his lawyers. My assumption is that he wants to stop paying NY income tax ASAP if he is in fact leaving NY.

Longer it goes better it is for us - though I have to believe that this latest LA report basically takes NY out of the picture.

My marriage is great thanks. Has been for many years. As I said, certain things don't need to be implied. But I've seen BOTH LaLa AND Melo ripped repeatedly in almost every single one of these threads for having the audacity to put family first. Its ridiculous. If she wants to stay in NY she isn't less cool. If he capitulates it doesn't mean he has his nuts in a vice. It means they possibly did what was best for their family. Nothing more. Everything else is just noise.

Wow you guys are sounding really confident. I don't think anyone in this race should feel confident right now. This does worry me being a Knicks fan. We offered all we got and it is not enough. I think Phil knows he needs to make a move to keep Carmelo and if we do not pull something off in short order he may leave. If he leaves you guys or lakers is gonna be interesting. Don't downplay his close relationship with Kobe. That is in contrast to Drose who doesn't seem to be in that inner circle of stars
