What did Ralph say?

I could be incorrect, but I believe Ralph had mentioned the Bulls liked Mcdermott multiple times.

No, but like anything recent? Why do we keep referencing him? I must've missed it.
Kris Bryant will go down as the greatest Chicago athlete after MJ

edit 7/30/21: okay maybe not, but it was a fun ride nonetheless

He said Bulls laid out two options for Carmelo, one w Taj and one w/o. The Gasol stuff is linked to signing Carmelo. They may be able to sign Carmelo to his max, S/T for Pau, and still have the MLE for Mirotic. Gibson would be traded elsewhere, I'm assuming L.A.

MG, I would love to see the Bulls getting another star player and compete for the title again, but Melo is not that player ... Everything he has done in his career so far, both on the court and off the court, suggests that he would not choose the Bulls ... He is a diva, and the only places where he would fit well are NY, LA or Miami ...

We probably still have a chance to acquire a star player, and that player's name is Kevin Love ... If our FO play their cards well, we might get him sooner than expected ...

If Melo comes here, he'll be turning down tens of millions of dollars more, going to a hardass defensive coach that doesn't accept excuses from star players, an organization that does not dote on their players, and depending on HOW much less he takes, indirectly paying the salary of several role players.

Don't you think that if he does that, it would be time to revise your opinion of him as a diva that wants fame and fortune above all else?

Well, you have just noted all the reasons why I am 100% confident that he won't choose the Bulls ...

Yo, verily Ralph hath also uttered:

I think the w/o Gibson is if no S&T. I can't get into specifics but the bottom line is the Bulls have told Melo they would give him the 4 year max.

And with sadness in his voice, and a tear in his eye, he said unto the little children:

I still think he stays with the Knicks.

and I quote:

Verily Ralph says unto you: The Bulls have given Melo two options. One with Gibson and one without Gibson and Melo getting the max. Also the Gasol stuff is linked to this. I can't get into specifics but the Bulls could land Melo at 22mil, Gasol at 8mil and still have the MLE for Nikola.

And the Bulls bequeathed upon Melo these options two: One to walk in congress with Gibson, if thou sayest Gibson is needed not, then Carmelo will be known then as Carmelo the maximus. If Carmelo thus wants to show his opulent generosity, several millions will be tithed to the church of Garpax, and thus will mark the coming of Padre Gasol of Los Angeles.

Ralph's words

I think the w/o Gibson is if no S&T. I can't get into specifics but the bottom line is the Bulls have told Melo they would give him the 4 year max.

There's a way to get Pau and keep Taj, prob no Niko then as we used the mle on something else.

If Melo choose us, NY would do a S&T and the Bulls would add more than Melo and he knows it
The Bulls want Melo and let it be known that they do whatever. They brought Taj in to hopefully get Melo for cheaper seeing that Taj can help them win easier. But they will not let money get in the way of Melo.

And if he does, you had him pegged. But if he doesn't, then you should want him on the team.

I respect your opinion but disagree... You need superstars and even if Rose only returns to allstar talent... the team with Melo in a weak East is dangerous and is a lock for ECF at least.

Melo is 30. His decline is imminent.
