I think it's obvious what's going on.
Melo has gotten Lebron's ear. They're best friends and can't both play for one or the other's home town team. That wouldn't be fair.

But LA has the ability to sign both.

What if he signs with LA? Riot in NY kinda like LA?

honestly i think we'll get over it pretty quickly... i mean half the board would be happy we didn't give him the max some will be disappointed, but everyone knows melo alone wont win us a chip so ether way its still going to be a long road :dontknow: hell during linsanity people were ready to kick melo to the curb, i remember it was all about "how can melo now fit into this team" on NY sports talk

also if he can lure james to LA and then bosh runs to Houston i think that alone might be worth it  the east would be wide open and we have a nice cozy landing spot for durant in 2016

I would be shocked in James leaves MIA.

James wants the max. Unless melo is willing to take a significant pay cut lakers can't afford all three at a max. This is all bs. He's resigning to the Knicks.

I've been out most of the day so I don't know if there's been some shift in the universe but I thought it was unanimous Melo would make the announcement he's re-signing with us on Monday & he's coming back to a max or less than that. Why is everyone losing their sh*t?

If I was to guess what will happen, Lebron stays in Miami and Melo stays in NY. But in case that is wrong, I think melo is more likely to leave then Lebron, but I would like to believe Chicago over LA. If I was Melo, I would rather play with D-Rose then an aged Ball stopper Kobe. Not to say Kobe wasn't great, but 2 players that like to take a ton of shots. I wouldn't doubt this being melos last contract and if its not then the next one will be for such a small amount.

Nah this is Melo playing his hand, The money is all squared away, now it's the other stuff, say on personel, suites, front row seats to Jimmy D and the Straight Shots, you know all the perks.

Well they may be able to sign them both, but not at close to max. If Melo and Bron are that serious about playing together, I think it would happen in either Miami or NY. Bron can go ahead and sign his 2 year deal with opt out after 1 and then sign with NY for max or whatever it is we can offer him next year.

I also don't think LeBron ever comes to NY, so whateves

I actually agree with this. Without melo, this NY team would be a team like it was when lin sanity had taken place.
