LOL - that's not worst coming to worst.

We could end up with nothing if he goes to LA

What about pride?

We'll be left with some of Melo's old underpants.

I thought the Heat weren't gonna sign anyone even if the big 3 restructured at the start of free agency.
But they didn't even go back under contract and expected top level players to come over.

Now they're left with a pool of Anthony Morrows and Jordan Farmars.

The Heat are finished in my opinion.

Finished might be a little strong only because of how bad the east is..as long as Lebron stats they're gonna be in the finals

You really think even if Lebron stayed.

Cole/Napier
Wade/Morrow
Lebron/Ennis
Bosh
Andersen

They would go to the finals? You realize Wade needs surgery again right?

They'll probably get Deng to play old Battier role, Morrow to play the old Miller role, and Hill to play the old Haslem role.

If they all stay, including the cap holds, Miami has less than 10 mil to spend.

Signing Deng, Morrow/Carter/Marion, Birdman, and Hill is on the other side of the improbable spectrum.

No, they just played the easiest matchups possible.

They didn't have to play the Bulls, Wiz, or Hawks.
And Charlotte looked to be giving them a challenge, but their best player went down in the first game.
The East got better and they got worse.

They would've beat the Bulls in 4, Wiz in 6 & Hawks in 5.

Heat might've gotten worse but Lebron is really that good to push his teams past other squads in the east. The west is a different story.

I think if you tossed the Bulls, then Wiz, then Pacers at them it would've looked like more of a struggle, especially since Wade would've fell even faster.

Lol none of those teams are beating them in a 7 game series..the east is a joke and Lebron is so much better then anyone else as long as he's there they'll get by

I've been at the shore all day. What's going on? Is Melo signing or not?

You might be right but the only team I see pushing them to a seven game series is the Pacers but I see none of them beating them in a 7 game series.

Looks like LA has stepped to the forefront in the Melo race... Would be able to bring in both he and James if they were to take 16m each.. Wow Kobe , Melo & Bron

Laker fan in peace... I have thought from Day One that Melo stays in NY but looks like we may have a shot... Just to clear some things... We will not do a S&T as we have 5 ayers under contract & Randle is part of the PITCH... Good luck in the offseason...

Lakers fan here. This guy Ayre has been a reliable source good and bad with the Lakers. He works near Beverly Hills.

BREAKING: Lakers management 'expects' Carmelo Anthony to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. #CountOnArye

It happens, we lost Howard last year even though he was only with us for a year. Hopefully you guys can rebound from this and get the #1 pick and land Jahlil Okafor in the draft next year.

If Melo takes 20mill per or less, I will be satisfied. I would rather trade him for a big package in a S&T, but that appears to be quite unrealistic at this point.

So if he signs for the 20 mill, here are some moves that may have to happen to allow next off-season to be the one where the Knicks can do some important shopping:

Trade JR Smith
Trade Prigs
Unless Shump takes a significant step forward, don't offer him the QO and let him go.

If Melo is making 20-21 mill under these circumstances, the Knicks total salary (with cap holds and first round draft pick) would be between 37-40 mill. Someone should double check me, but that is the rough estimate I came up with.

The cap number is projected to go up to 66mill next season, but let's say 65 to be safe. If that is the case, we would have 25-28 mill to spend. Every million Melo gives up is a big help.

Again, my numbers could be wrong, so I wouldn't mind the help. Here is the list of potential free agents: http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2013/09/2015 ... gents.html
