The one thing with Randolph is that he is a religious, church-going guy and we know we have a like-minded H20 fellow in Knicks management, so they could hang in the same flock.

Lakers? Kobe by far is better than anyone on our roster, Gasol is also better than any big we have. And the Lakers are letting players electing who the coach will be, while NY already hired Fisher.

If Melos decided he couldn't commit to Chicago or Houston for money reasons, and it's now between sunny LA and cold NY, I wouldn't be surprised to see Melo joining Los Angeles. Offers are roughly the same, only difference is LAL can't offer a fifth year they can offer later anyway. Melos probably asked an opt out clause when Kobe expires which the Lakers would probably give him.
If the Lakers align Kobe-Melo-Gasol and their lottery PF, along with Nash as a point guard, they will see many good free agents commit to minimum money.

But Melo has to think about Kobe and that his health is a real question mark. An identical issue with the other top star I. Chicago. Both would be capped out and star player cautious about big minutes during midyear. Melo again will be stuck in last years situation.
At least in NY, the immediate future looks bright.

Knowing Melo though, he just wants the spotlight a couple more days.

Melo's simply gathering as much information as he can. He'll bring the info back to Phil and chaos will ensue. While we're worried about the MeloDrama, Phil's moved on to something else.

Because what he is saying is b*****. That is the point of my post. If he had real sources and leaked them, they would (Dolan and company) want him to shut up about it.

He leaked that the Melo trade was done. Didn't get his song pulled. Leaked Felton was coming back to NY, didn't get get his song pulled. Regardless if he is bs'n or not , no one seems to give a damn.

Fair enough.

It's crazy. 'Maybe they've got a secret deal to move Booz, maybe they're working out a S&T, maybe they're just waiting for Melo to announce it...'

Then again, maybe not.

You're right though. While were spending our days reading into everything we hear Phil could be on the phones right now working on a sign and trade with someone cause Melo has already informed him to where he wants to go or he could be working on trades of our own cause Melo has already told him he's coming back........nobody really knows nothing on our end.

Bulls board got me dying

1) Trade the three unguaranteeds, Snell, Smith, a first and a signed-and-traded Hinrich (three year deal starting at $5,184,140) to New York, as well as Dunleavy to wherever the hell someone wants him, in exchange for Melo starting at an even $20 mil

Tell them you have sources that rumor Phil has decided to let Melo go to LA because of his relationship with Jeanne, 2 future 1s and reunited with Pau to get his brother next year. Lol

There has got to be a happy medium, that is a silly trade, but so is the proposed trade on this board of 3 1st rounders, mirotic & mcdermott. That would be an unprecedented trade for a free agent. Can anyone put together a reasonable trade proposal? If we wanted to trade three firsts and two first round prospects, getting back a **** sandwich like JR, we'd just trade for Love, who is a better player than Melo anyways and would come cheaper moneywise.

Probably will be moot once NYK signs Melo anyhow.

You can build a really good team overnight in 2015.

getting free agents is really hard kg. you fight with other teams for them. what will the knicks have to offer to free agents ? phil jackson ? that's not gonna mean much when we're a worse team then the one they're leaving and the money is the same everywhere. no, we're gonna suck.

That's what i'm saying cause the same big boys will be looking at all the big names again next year.........Miami,LA,LA,Chicago,Houston,Dallas and so on and so on so there is no guarantees for next year which is why we need Melo.

They're not getting him at all, yet they're worsening their offer. Might as well I guess. Why bid against yourself when the only deal that's happening is in your mind or fantasyland.

Wait, let's take Snell out -- Hinrich at $6M per for 4 years is good enough ... they have no leverage.

I'd personally be fine with Niko in additon to two 1st rounders for Melo.

If you want us to take Boozer back that would, of course, demand some additional incentives. I don't see why it wouldn't.

But if it turns out that you guys need a sign and trade to get Melo, I don't see why we don't hold out for as many assets as possible. There's no incentive for us to sign and trade him to you guys for a crappy return. We'd rather keep him for ourselves or let him walk out West to LA for nothing.

IF your trading us Boozer, we need to be compensated for that as well.

Knicks trade: Melo JR Smith
Bulls Trade : Boozer, MDjr, + McDermott, + Bairstow + Snell + 2 first rounders and the sac pick + 2 2nd rounders

I can live with not getting Mirotic. I dont really care much for him honestly. But in this deal you are getting the two msot talented players that are not rookies or unknowns. If yo dont wanna trade Mirotic, then you gotta add the third pick. But if Mirotic is in the deal, then 1 first and Sacs first.

Noah/Mirotic?
GIbson Mirotic
Melo/JR
Butler/JR/Hinrich
Rose/Hinrich/Augestine

Please, listen to me on this and everyone stop panicking. I'm in L.A. and can give you the logical reasoning why this crap is all BS.

1) Our board went into a frenzy on the "Lakers are in on it" headlines. Where did that rumor start? A Bill Simmons tweet. We all know he LOVES the Celtics and hates the Lakers and Knicks. He's written about and spoken about his hate for both of those franchises. In one tweet, he causes the fanbase of both of franchises to go into a frenzy. Knick fans fearing they'll lose Melo for nothing, Laker fans hoping they'll have Kobe/Melo/Pau signed.

2) Ramona Shelbourne, an ESPNLA reporter, picks up the rumor and runs with it. "Momo" as the L.A. base calls her is a sometimes legit reporter, sometimes rumor mongerer. She is a guest on every radio show on ESPN L.A. and she pretty much is attention starved for airtime. In L.A. the Lakers are ALWAYS the top story even when other sports teams are better and the Lakers suck. Momo gets paid to keep the airwaves humming with Lakers news. She is to the Lakers what Francesca is to the Yankees. She has no new information from Thursday, but is spinning it like she has. I've listened to her radio interviews since then and there is NOTHING NEW.

3) Lastly, Woj- the biggest Knick hater on the national scene, picks up on this story and repeats exactly the same line with no new information but his old opinion of "Melo isn't happy about Phil asking him for a discount" line that he has been saying for months now.

4) Not one NYC reporter added new information to this report but put their version out there anyhow because other reporters in LA and nationally put it out there.

CONCLUSION: THERE IS NO NEW INFORMATION SINCE THURSDAY DAY NIGHT!!!!

ESPN and Grantland (Simmons) get paid to keep the conversations going and the clicks happening on a holiday weekend. What better way to do that than to rally up the fan bases of the Knicks, Lakers and Bulls?

People, chill out. Phil and Jeannie are chilling together in Manhattan Beach this entire weekend! You think that they'd be enjoying the weekend together if this thing was WWIII wit them? Melo is chilling in L.A. too...Nothing is new, Melo is still committed to the Knicks. They're all enjoying their weekend and will dot the 'i's and cross the 't's on Monday.

Return to New York Knicks
