What teams would take Steve Nash if Lakers included Randle?

Post#1 » by wfiles » Sun Jul 6, 2014 6:40 pm

Steve Nash has a 1 year, $9.7 million contract left. Would there be any teams that would take Nash with Julius Randle? This would give the Lakers $34 million cap space to sign LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony? Are there any teams that would help the Lakers get both LeBron and Carmelo? :o

Why would the lakers ever trade randle just to get rid of an expiring nash?

Lebron is not gonna play with a washed up Kobe. Melo would be stupid to do that too

If the Lakers traded Nash and Randle to a team under the cap then the Lakers wouldn't need to take back any contracts. The Lakers would now have $34 million cap space to sign LeBron and Carmelo.

There's a ton of teams that would do that -- buy Randle for 9.7mil? Easy sell to any non-contender with cap.

But do they want to be the team that help the Lakers get Lebron and Carmelo? A lot of teams hate the Lakers.

We can just package Nash with rising star Marshall. Marshall is basically Jeremy Lin on steroids. That way we keep Randle. Think about it:

Lebron
Kobe
Gasol
Melo
Randle

I'd like to think my Magic would be at the front of the queue with snoopdogg88's Sixers. The only way the Lakers do that, though, is if they have an absolute guarantee of signing both Lebron and Melo and merely have to go through the formality of clearly cap space.

All of them with cap room. As a Raptors fan I would have done Salmons/2016 Knicks 1st/#20 for Nash/Randle
2016 GMAT Blazers

Howard/Nene/
Griffin/M.Leonard/T.Jones
Porter/Marc.Morris/J.Johnson
McCollum/Stauskas/Thompson/Seldon
Lillard/Bayless/DeColo

No team wants a player who is going to get banned for taking PEDs.

You don't think a team in the East, say Atlanta, Detroit, Toronto, Charlotte wouldn't want Lebron out of their conference?

I think even the Celtics would do that. If I was the Lakers I would stay away from Toronto though. Mitch would be trading Randle and Kobe for Landry Fields before he knew what hit him.

The only way they would do that is if Carmelo and LEbron both give them assurances that they would sign there for 16/17million per year. That's not going to happen though which makes it a moot point.

That would actually be better for Los Angelos

Marshall is a product of Mike D who can neither shoot nor defend. He's a backup point guard at best.

41% from 3 on 3.3 attempts/game. He shoots like a girl but he makes them when he needs to.
