If Melo cared about the organization he played under, he would never have forced a trade to NY to play for Dolan and D'Antoni. He would have stayed with Ujiri and a perennial 50+ win team.
the reason he wanted out was they were about to blow the team up.
idk, if "blowing up" meant getting rid of the soon to be dead weight that we wound up acquiring a few years later not even from Denver (JR Camby K-Mart), then by all means.
But say what you will, Denver offered Melo his extension immediately....they wanted him to stay.

That's the thing, I don't think its a bad contract. Then again I believe in Melo and you don't...much like the majority of the board.
a bad deal is offering from the jump by a large margin over everyone else in any business. deal no matter who it is. And yeah for the record I dont believe melo is worth 129 mil on the court, and durability has always been my reason why. too much money for a player whose been injured every year they've been here, and way too inefficient to command such dollar when the lights are brightest.
He's a #1 if the goal isnt to win at the highest level.....#2 if it is.greenhughes wrote:Say what you want but LA offered that max. Period.
You said "market'. 129 isnt his market, the lakers offer isnt his market either, neither is the bulls.
Notice how three different teams offered three different things. Not market, CBA dictates what they can.greenhughes wrote:Chicago simply can't as they have money tied up. You have no idea what's going on behind the scenes to say who's trying to move what so your point there is mute.
Sure they could, they wont because they dont want a gutted team just to get Melo. but they certainly could if they wanted to.greenhughes wrote:Fact: LA offered the Max.
Fact: Other teams want him but don't have the necessary cap space to offer the max.
Thats all LA could do, but it isnt "market" as you want it to be believed.
If a team truly wanted a legit shot for Melo, they'd make the room....plain and simple. The well known destination (Bulls) isnt even doing it, and there's no indication they would even if he picked them.
Still offering your feelings up as fact. That don't work on me, nor will it ever....my personal FACT!
The only thing we have money wise over other teams is that extra year...FACTS!
The starting salary for both us and the Lakers are in fact the same....again FACTS!
Thug get out your feelings about Melo as a player. You don't know what's going on behind the scenes. How do you know what Chicago is trying to move? You don't. Your opinion is non-valid on that issue....once again FACTS!
Two teams who have the money to do so, have offered Carmelo Anthony the Max they are allowed to. FACTS!
Everything else is how you feel about the situation...FACT#
You kniw what else is fact that no team that doesn't have atleast ine star is after him, Houston has Harden Dwight and bunch of nice role players like Parson, Chicago has Rose, Noah and Taj among other's and LA has Kobe and yes I know he's in his mid 30s but it's stil Kobe.
We are the only team that thinks Melo is worth 129 mil with a bum shoulder and 30 years old, kind of says a lothuh? You can be a Melo fan all you want me I prefer to be a Knick fan and as a Knick fan I dont see anything about Melo that would make me believe he's worth that money, not his exits in the first round in Denver nor his here and after that Laker game where our playoffs were depending on it and he choked big just like he did against the Pacers in the pkayoffs abd them blamed his shoulder and then a week later went fishing for sharks with that same bum shoulder and the idiot takes a pic of it lol

Actually I responded to the point on market feel free to check the original post I quoted you from.
My personal feelings has nothing to do with the original point.....not even the second post either.
I only reiterated my personal view...when YOU brought it up.
Your thoughts on the free market are not valid when there was in fact a team that offered the max that they were allowed to within the rules of the CBA. That is in fact helping set market value. You can't get around that...FACT!

What has Denver ever won in their entire history? They started getting rid of front office pieces and new management was starting to take over then we started hearing grumbling about Melo wanting to leave.

Do you understand what market means? 4 teams melo visited.....2 of the four didnt offer the max, when they knew all year they were teams we would consider.

After a long phone conversation with Carmelo Anthony, I can confidently say he will not be re-signing with the New York Knicks. It seems as though the vast array of sushi dishes, coupled with the fact that he feels his best color is yellow have drawn him to Los Angeles. More info coming soon.

If we do lose Melo we should call up the Magic about him and Harkless and see if we can grab one.
