Bledsoe and Dragic?

Post#1 » by Mylie10 » Fri Jul 4, 2014 9:34 am

As a Warrior fan I find it odd that the Suns might not keep these two together. It was tough for the Warriors to deal with the both of them when they were healthy. I love the young mix of your team and Hornacek seems to be really really good.

Are you guys not gonna bring back Bledsoe? And if I were you guys I'd tell the Pacers to take a bike in regards to Dragic.

Suns FO already know the dilemmas they face..

If they strike out with any big star FAs in the next week, they waste a big chunk of their cap space on just resigning their own players.

Then next year they waste the rest of their cap space on resigning Dragic and maybe Green...

So Suns of 2013-2014 which was a fun team to watch and have a lot of upside due to flexibility become the same team in 2015+, except older, no cap space... Probably good for 7th/8th seed... Which is treadmill at its core definition. Unless of course their rookies and youth step up big time.

Trades are also limited since all the stars of today are divas dictating where they want to be traded.

My point is...

Depending on what happens in the next week...
Suns will indeed be forced to separate Dragic and Bledsoe to avoid being a maxed out 8th seed team...

Their staying put because not every team is capable of having two great backcourt players.

I like Dragic and see him as a Sun for a long time ... I can only imagine a poster like you with Dragic as your screen name.
But sadly ... The Suns only have a bright future because they have cash to sign up stars to add to the current team.
But look at the roster... You cannot have a maxed out salary and hope to build a championship team with your two best players under 6'4 and are both combo guards.

Pistons had an all NBA defensive combo forward in Dennis Rodman, Bill Laimbeer next to him defensive players off the bench. They had an identity which was an elite defensive team with best combo guard backcourt.

Chances are, It's either going to be Bledsoe or Dragic...post 2014-2015 season.
Assuming McD is serious about a championship team.

Bledsoe would have to accept a 10-12 million contract and so does Dragic... This way they can get a big star next to them... But that will mean both players need to sacrifice.

Best backcourt in the league with a coach that has experienced it, masterful system and sub pattern, these guards causr so many problems..... should of won 50-55 games with a healthy bled we lost 4-5 straight games againts wack teams cause of bledsoe being hurt but hornasrck put in a system for a solo pg and put stuff from the triangle offense to help our offense with bled out we were able to win a fair share of games. Then bled cameback and we won 5 straight 8 out of 10 down the stretch than Drag got hurt..

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

I think we can reasonably get them both signed for 11-12 million. That's a huge raise for both, especially Bledsoe. Getting a 300% raise having never started half of a season and coming off a fairly significant injury seems like an incredible deal to me.

Yeah, the media is being stupid.

McD just put this squad together, you don't pull the ripcord a year in advance because your 3rd Team, All-NBA PG/SG expects to get paid more than $7.5m per year. You lock him up long term, when the time is right, and then negotiate from a position of leverage if you ever decide to change direction.

If it were me? I'd offer Dragic a front-loaded 5-year, $60m contract this next season. He's Ginobili-esque and I think he has a ton of mileage left in him. A 5-year deal puts him at 33-34, which are still good years for a lot of the low-mileage Euro-types.
