What teams would take Steve Nash if Lakers included Randle?

But do they want to be the team that help the Lakers get Lebron and Carmelo? A lot of teams hate the Lakers.
You don't think a team in the East, say Atlanta, Detroit, Toronto, Charlotte wouldn't want Lebron out of their conference?
Lol. Take the East's only two good players and ship them west. Lovely. If this happens the east should be disqualified from the playoffs. Just hold the playoffs between the 15 WC teams with the 1 seed getting a bye in the first round.

You're talking like an emotional fan, not a business owner. The Lakers were the most profitable franchise last season and contributed about $50 million to the leagues revenue share. To put that $50 million in perspective, the Chicago Bulls were the 2nd most profitable franchise last season at about $75 million in profits. The Nets swallowed a loss of $50 million.
Now keep in mind, the $160 million in profits the Lakers earned (before tax and revenue sharing) came in the worst season in their entire history. Can you imagine how much they'd make for the league with stars like Kobe, Melo and Lebron?
The new CBA rewards incompetent front offices. Now teams can tank, cut their payroll, and collect their profits. It doesn't even have to be a tank move. Many people are predicting Randle will be in the running for ROY.

He is debating on playing with a washed up Wade. I don't think that will be an issue.
He gets along with Wade and are pretty close on and off court....Lebron isn't anywhere near that way with Kobe. Lebron won't sign with Lakers with Kobe still on the team...they would head butt...now if the Lakers didn't have Kobe, then sure it would be a good chance he signs with Lakers

Re: What teams would take Steve Nash if Lakers included Rand
There was a rumoured deal between the Griz and Raps pre-draft, where the Griz sent Prince (8 mil expiring) and their 22nd pick for Salmon's 2-mil buyout. That struck me as a very slight overpay to dump Prince, who is still a nice veteran defensive sf, just one who shouldn't be starting.
I think Nash is a slightly less useful expiring than Prince (obviously he's better is he gets healthy, but odds are you get less than 20 games out of him), earns a little more and the lakers want straight cap space, not a contract with a 2 mil buyout, so they would need to offer something a little more valuable than the 22nd in this year's excellent draft.
Marshall doesn't get it done, obviously, and nor, I suspect, does a heavily protected future first. But Randle is far too much. Two future heavily protected firsts, like the firsts in the Gasol deal, would do it, but Lakers lack the flexibility to trade picks in the near future.

Not that I think it's going to happen, but you have no idea what would happen. We get it, you guys think Kobe sucks/hate him/think he's a douche. None of that means much in reality because it's just conjecture on your part.

Contracts of 3 or less years in length are ineligible for renegotiation.
And even if it was a 4yr deal open to renegotiation, none of the original contract years may be reduce to pay him less in those years, you can only renegotiate upwards.

I'm curious to see how old Kobe and Nash perform together without the Dwightmare demanding the ball in the post on every possession (and subsequently turning it over 1 out of every 4 times, true stat)

Re: What teams would take Steve Nash if Lakers included Rand
Better question would be, "What teams would take Kobe Bryant if packaged with Randle?"
I could see a bottom feeder with lots of cap space doing it. They'd get Randle, and Kobe would sell some tickets while also dragging the team down and helping them tank. So they'd get Randle and some extra ticket sales while still staying in rebuild mode and getting more high draft picks from being a lottery team.
The Lakers would be much better off on the court if they could dump Kobe by himself without having to throw away Randle, but would any team do that?
If the Lakers were to pull off such a deal and dump Kobe, they would instantly become the heavy favorites to get LeBron and Melo, and they could either add Bosh to that now or wait a year and add Love. But they'd only do that if they were actually trying to win championships and make more money, and they don't currently appear to have either one of those things near the top of their list of things to do.

Not me. I love Nash. Consummate pro, all-time great distributor and shooter. But he's done. If the Lakers reel in Melo and Pau with Kobe, they'll make one hell of a trio in the post. I don't care who the coach is, but they'll have to play inside-out. Nash will have to accept a role as a spot-up shooter. He's too fragile to run an offense at this point. He would've missed the entire season if he wasn't gunning for that 10-game hurdle.
As much flack as we give Mike Brown, at least he understood what the Lakers strengths were. Dantoni trying to turn an old veteran team whose strengths were in the post, into a run 'n gun jumpshooting team is one of the dumbest, most mind-boggling basketball blunders I've ever seen. Dwight refusing to run pick 'n roll is up there as well.

If it's a rebuilding team that will take 3-5 years to compete, I don't think they'll give a damn on other franchises forming super teams to compete now...

GTFO. no **** bloody hell Lakers would trade Randle just for get rid Nash contract. LeBron and Melo would come to Lakers together first before that happen.

Kobe's got a no-trade clause though. So LA can't just package him with Randle to Philly.

Lol. The amount of weird threads on here lately is getting crazy. Lebron and Carmelo need to hurry up so the rest of free agency can fall into place.

LA will keep Randle. Silly plain silly to think they'd trade him.

lol Jesus you guys are relentless
If Minny does trade Love elsewhere and the Lakers get into win now mode, I can see a Pekovic for Randle and Nash's contract kind of trade.
