Bill Laimbeer (or even a Rick Mahorn)... a big man with some grit, some muscle, some balls.

Who was Laimbeer for the Spurs? 2013 Heat? 2012 Heat? 2011 Mavs? 2010 Lakers? Etc etc etc.

Laimbeer was a mediocre talent who got in people's heads by playing DIRTY. No it wasn't gamesmanship. Not "oh it's, the 80s they were tougher." He played dirty. Fuq him and players like him.

I loved and enjoyed that era where players were able to get away with punching each other while the ball was up for grabs for a rebound.

but the game has changed since then, and NBA has made specific rules to avoid a player like Bill to ever come into prominence. it isn't the same game anymore, thus a sergeant of arms like Bill Laimbeer can not ever be a part of this league. funny how the general of that particular team was ran by a little Isaiah Thomas, if it wasn't for him ordering the hits, Bill would have never been all that rough.

after all, he is a son of a millionaire businessman who did not have to earn a living by playing basketball.
ehhhhh f it.

Well based on the DOC, Laimbeer caught the Piston GM's eye cause he was a fire-y guy on the court.
Laimeer was the real thing.

Steve Ballmer... he was born in Detroit, no?

... maybe he's our off-the-court Laimbeer... maybe Ballmer has given Blake his blessing to go out there and be "hardcore" on the court.
