If they tell Bosh to bounce but Melo re-ups with us they are in a fuqed up position regarding James. Their preference is to keep Bosh. Bosh needs to leave on his own. Then they will make that call to Melo.
Bron can call Melo right now and ask him though
it will "look" fuqed up
Bosh is supposed to be his"brother"

If Bosh left Miami, that certainly would change the scope of things.
Miami has a very interesting situation there. A conundrum of sorts. LeBron won't sign until he's convinced that Riley is bringing in the other necessary parts but the other necessary parts won't sign until they know LeBron is on board.
Riley cant do anything major until these dudes make a decision, he's quite limited in that area.

We're pretending that Bron can't just call up Melo and ask him if he could come to Miami if they ditched Bosh.
very true. Idk what the problem is then....

why would melo sign with miami until lebron resigns?
My point is why would Miami wait? You think Melo wouldnt talk to Lebron before signing in Miami?
If MIami calls Melo and he is intrigued you dont think he is calling Lebron to see if he is resigning?

Nobody has to know. That's how those boys got together in the first place.
If Miami is seriously risking losing out on Melo to see if Bosh makes up his mind, they are all dumb. Especially when a few text messages can clear the whole issue up for them.
Sh*t, Riley could have asked Melo himself, even without scheduling a meeting

Melo had all his visits and the long weekend to think things over. If we don't hear anything tomorrow then something is definitely up (i.e. coordinating with LeBron).

Stephen A is really terrible. He didn't report anything. He just gave his opinion on something obvious. Of course Heat would contact Melo if Bosh left smh. After he says that he then says nobody knows what LeBron wants to do but Heat are the front runners......**** WHAT?

Miami has a very interesting situation there. A conundrum of sorts. LeBron won't sign until he's convinced that Riley is bringing in the other necessary parts but the other necessary parts won't sign until they know LeBron is on board.
It's pretty easy math - if LeBron knows that all other necessary parts will sign if LeBron signs, then all LeBron has to do is agree to sign.
Since LeBron has not agreed to sign, we must therefore conclude that all other necessary parts have not agreed to sign if LeBron signs.
LeBron knows bringing back basically the same team as last year, less Battier, couldn't beat the Spurs. Therefore, he needs to see not only Wade and Bosh come back, but more talent on top of that, plus the ability to a max type contract. Lowry is gone, so Melo and Lance Stephenson represent all that remain of game changing talent in the free agent pool (since Miami does not have the necessary assets to make a trade for a meaningful player).
Therefore, I think the equation is LeBron is waiting for Wade and Bosh to come to the realization they need to take a heavier pay cut to allow Miami to give LeBron a bigger contract and still sign Stephenson (more likely than Melo), while Bosh in particular isn't crazy about the idea and therefore exploring other scenarios.
Therefore, I think it's right that the Miami puzzle is largely about Bosh accepting a big discount to return, but I don't see that as a likely outcome. Without Bosh coming back, LeBron might as well go team with a guy like Wiggins on a rookie contract and Kyrie than stick around and watch Wade continue to fade.

Interesting that the Heat cannot just tell Wade (or Bosh) to take a hike. Maybe they did work out some under the table agreement, and thus are unable to do so...
Or perhaps Riley doesn't value Melo like we do.

Honestly sportscenter has become the medium for those who dont use twitter and forums for sport news. it always breaks here first. Even live events like the draft. I know I only use SC for background noise these days

I think that was all done knowing if the chance for Lebron/Melo to play together arose, it would be explored.
