I was hoping for something like 3 years 18 million but it's a fair enough deal considering how vital he was to this team over the last two years.

Well, he asked to be waived to come here, then took a 9 mill for 2 seasons.. It's ok to pay him this time.

Our roster with:
Parker, Mills, Joseph, Cotton?
Ginobili, Green, Bellinelli
Leonard, Daye, Anderson
Duncan, Diaw
Splitter, Baynes, Ayres

is like 62-65 millions. Don't know what it is going to happen with Bonner. Still room for the MLE, but i don't think we'll use it..

I'm guessing if we miss out on Gasol (which is very likely) we resign Bonner and the roster is set.

Awesome!! Glad to have Boris back! Any extra pieces outside of last years team plus Anderson are icing on the cake.

I wonder where Gasol is going to end up though. If Melo goes to LA I think he's a lock to resign but if that doesn't happen who knows where he ends up.

Nice to have him back, but it feels a little bit high to me.

a little high for someone his age but honestly i can't really complain. The guy turned up big time last year and has only gone from strength to strength since he first signed. Give the man his money.

Fair deal, still leaves us with plenty of cap room in 2015. Good offseason. The 3rd year is partially guaranteed, so if he drops off he can be cut in the 3rd year with little cost.

As for Gasol, he's obviously the #1 MLE target. It's not actually so unrealistic if the Spurs FO wants it bad enough. They can just offer Gasol the MLE for 1 year, and promise his agent that they'll give him a larger contract in 2015 with some of their cap space. The Spurs have form with this (e.g. R.J), so their credibility for such a promise is good. Not sure the Spurs want him that badly though. It's nice to see how the roster is looking for both next season, and the season after (when the team has to be transformed into a Kawhi/Parker team). It'll be even nicer if guys like Kyle and Cotton pan out.

If Pau is acquired I guess the Spurs trade/waive someone. Maybe Ayres/CoJo is sent to Utah for cap space (they could use some solid role players, and need to hit the salary floor anyway).

We haven't resigned Bonner or Baynes yet so we still have a roster spot open.

It's not a steal, but I can't complain.

7.5m is fair for what he brings to the table. Kyle Anderson could learn a lot from him. 3rd year is partially guaranteed, so if he gets lazy after 2 years SA could simply waive him or use his contract as a trade bait.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

I definitely didn't expect the number to be that high. He got 2 years 9 mil before. At the very most, I expected an average of 6 mil a year, not to the tune of 7.3 mil a year. However, we can afford it and the 3rd year is guaranteed so it's fine. It's more important to bring him back than to let him leave and try to find a replacement.

Frye just got $8M per with Orlando. They bring different things to the table obviously, but I know who I'd rather have going into a seven game series between him and Diaw.
