We'll see if Minnesota is willing to deal him once the front-end free agents land. I'm just not sure what the Bulls are thinking here with Love, whether they think they have a cheaper version in Mirotic, don't want to give up a lot of assets, etc.

Yes its possible, but it might be assumed that Melo would no longer think the team is strong enough without Taj here. We would have no PF. Obviously a guy like Melo probably has no faith in a rookie Euro that has never played an NBA game.

Other words if the Knicks were willing to call our bluff, Melo no longer wants the Bulls even at max, because they aren't the best destination for winning at that point.

I know this is the Melo thread, but I just have to say that I don't know if I can stomach Lance for a few years. I recognize that he's the best fit out of the remaining FA's, but he's a freaking bozo. I don't see it working well with Thibs. The kids polarizing, especially when you look at our needs and the fact we will have money burning a hole in our pockets.

But he'd have faith in a rookie college player who has never played professionally (Randle)? Thats what I find perplexing about the LA stuff.

We apparently told Mirotic he won't be traded.

Would make getting Love kind of tricky even if Minny was willing to deal before the deadline.

Let's just wait for the decision. Everyone is guessing at this point, and the only reason Chicago is not talked about is because we've been really quiet.

We don't need Taj if we've got Bosh.

I don't agree there. Need his toughness and rebounding. Play Bosh 34 minutes and Noah and Taj 31

I don't think so, I don't find the Lakers pitch very credible either.

But he may have more faith in Kobe and Pau than Derrick and Noah.

I wouldn't, but sometimes these players live in the past with big names and assuming how good they still are.

Dirk comes out and says hell yeah I will recruit him, remember Lebron met Derek Fisher at the airport last year.

Rose seems to be the only one who has won nothing, hasn't played in 2 plus years his camp has been known to complain we can't put better players around him and he can't make an effort like Noah, Gibson, Kobe, etc?

Rose has won a MVP and did help in the recruiting. Don't try to flip this on Rose.

Apparently we aren't that interested, check the Lance thread, so rest easy.

Watching Rodney Stuckey or someone of that ilk will be so much more fun to stomach. And that's about all the talent level that's left after Stephenson in the wing category unfortunately.

Maaaybe Ariza, but we'd have to overpay no doubt. And he's not a balhandler or shot creator.

Our roster is better than NY's or LA's even without Taj.

Ralph also noted we would get Gasol so that fills the PF hole. Maybe it was just too damn elaborate and the FO couldn't get all the necessary parties to cooperate
