What's interesting is if there is collusion at play between these two, they are also tying up their competitions hand in getting better (Bulls, rockets, mavs, etc) by placing them in a holding pattern..missing out on talent while their endgame is to hold hands and play together.

I think anyone who posted BS in one of the 20 Melo threads to make us falsely optimistic, such as the poster who mentioned Melo's lawyers traveling to Chicago, should have their posts pinned to the top of this page so we know who never to believe again. Yes I'm extremely frustrated as I've been every offseason since 23 retired

I still think the crew is all sticking in Miami. All of these rumors are made up. Why do I think this?

Udonis Haslem opted out. All of these guys discussed opting out together and fixing the holes Miami has. I just don't see anyway Haslem or Wade opt out otherwise. All this stuff about the Big Three not talking amongst themselves: :crazy:

Don't believe everything you read. The idea that these guys are not close all of a sudden is such BS. The media can make you believe anything. I also don't believe LeBron cares as much about a max contract as has been stated.

I just have such a hard time believing the Big Three is splitting up. It's all media nonsense.

Anyone touted as an "expert" should be able to speak more intelligently than the dolts rolled out by the Booyahs. Everybody has run with the "Bulls can only offer $15M" narrative when it is flat out not true. We have no idea what they did offer but even with an amnesty of Boozer, a simple, reasonable S&T of three players plus the non-guaranteeds nets Melo over $20M. Nobody even talks about that though.

Its not just this topic, the level of in-depth reporting by US media outlets is embarassing. Its all about 30 second sound bites not in depth reporting. Sad but true.

Windhorst says he doesn't know but LA and NY's situation is the same. If you're going to be in a rebuild, why not just go to the plays that offers you the most money (NY). If he wants to be in the most competitive situation, Chicago is a no-brainer.

*Edit: He doesn't believe the Bulls are completely out of it. Gasol is plan B because Chicago can offer him more money. However, they won't be a favorite because of the other teams in the in the Gasol sweepstakes.

Carmen bringing up the money. The $60M difference. Windhorst shot that done because of the S&T being possible. He said the only difference in money is the 5th year with the Knicks and if he goes back its because he WANTS TO BE in NY.

Why do they think LAL can offer so much more than us? Isn't it known we can get his 4 yr max if we move enough stuff w/a S&T?

Which might be the plan honestly. If you are the Mavs, Rockets, Lakers, Bulls and you sign someone other than Melo, than Melo can state he was really interested in that team but they moved on from you. If Melo does not make the choice by tonight, then to me he is really waiting to see where Lebron goes and we are out of it. I think if he waits past today, then they are colluding with Lebron but does not want to do it up front to look bad. I also believe that the Heat are waiting it out to announce plans to make it look like they are not colluding - oh I really thought long and hard about the Cavs but I decided to stick with the Heat (Lebron's drama from colluding). If Lebron is serious about Cavs, then this is the only way I see Melo coming here or if Bosh does go back. If Melo does make a decision today, maybe he just is nervous walking away from the Knicks (being a city he wants to stay in).

Honestly, I would have preferred the Bulls to go after Love seriously than Melo. Then if you make the trade and the Wolves do it, you can go after other pieces easily during free agency.

I really hope the Bulls can get Burks somehow as I think he is a piece we can strive for.

Windhorst completely shut-down Carmen saying the Bulls can't pay enough. Said if Melo wants to go to Chi he can force a S&T - the money isn't as big an issue as people are making it - thinks he just wants to live in NY.
