Starting to think Melo not coming back. If he was, we would have heard something already. Knicks should have been the easiest decision since this is where his heart is and we can offer the most money. Something isn't right. I think he's leaving. Time to move on. Let the THJr is the next MJ talks begin.

I see no reason for bosh to turn down a max deal with a team that has a legit chance at making the finals. he could put them over the top. bosh isnt worth the max but he does make them much better

Lebron is a facilitator of offense. He and Melo together would be unstoppable. You can't double team either one of them.
There is no doubt in my head they have been talking regularly about teaming up.
Unstoppable ? LeBron played with Wade and Bosh. Yet I'm supposed to believe LeBron + Melo is going to be better than that. Please. Carmelo is a scorer that doesn't do much of anything else very proficiently.
There were a ton of occasions this season where Bosh was counted on to hit a wide open jumpers and couldn't and Bosh's post game had become a non-factor.. Melo would help them in both areas. Melo is also a little tougher than Bosh and Melo can carry an offense all on his own where Bosh really can't anymore. Melo would be a great sidekick for Lebron James and I think James is the only player he'd be willing to play second fiddle to.
Other than that.. if you're pinning your hopes on building around Melo with hopes of building a championship contending team.. good luck because that's way, way harder than it sounds. look at how many pieces Denver moved in and out of there until they finally got it right that one year and then the next Karl gets sick while they had the best record in the West and Dantley took over and it was all downhill from there culminating in a first round exit with HCA.
You'd need a PG he can respect who isn't going to take his s*it, a coach that is willing to yell and be overbearing, and you'd need Melo to acquiesce to the system for the whole season which is almost impossible to do if you don't have the previous two things I mentioned already in place. You basically need what he had in Denver and I'll tell you this Calderon ain't no damn Chauncey Billups and Derrick Fisher ain't no damn George Karl.

He is waiting to see what Lebron does.

TWIST: KnicksGod IS Robert Randolph.
You'll never see us in the same room together. That's all I'm going to say.
LeBron and Melo CAN happen in NY lol. You guys have BFS.
In fact, the major advantage of NY is three-fold: 1 Best sports city and the basketball world would be set on fire -- starved for greatness and would go nuts, 2 Phil is here, and 3 unlike Arison, Dolan will pay a huge luxury tax bill every year.
Only downside is the weather and the fact that Bron can't get his money this year. Would have to wait a year, unless Phil pulls an Amar'e and Bargnani out of his rearend. Oh and pressure. But Melo can handle NY and if Bron is the King, he should be able to, too.
Any other explanation, beyond this year's cap restraints, is BFS. Why is it BFS? Because Miami is not a great basketball city and having Wade on their cap for the next two years at around 15M is a HINDRANCE. Much better to take the Knicks' additional cap room for a guy like Marc Gasol.
The only downside of NY compared to Miami, other than LeBron's money this year, is pressure, but that goes with the territory of the excitement of playing in NYC. Everything else is advantage Knicks. Oh and I'd put Calderon on that list of advantages too, and perhaps Shump and Timmy, since Miami's shooters are old. Maybe you could say Cole and Shump are a wash but Shump's ceiling is still bigger.

JR would have to improve his game. but even last year where we said he was horrible he shot close to 40% from 3. (39.4%)
Smith was fourth best in the NBA at catch and shoot threes at over 46%.

Melo does not need the ball in his hands. Not at all. He is amazing catch and shoot player. It will 100% happen if they want it to. The only question is where...
Do you actually watch the games? Melo needs like 3 jab steps and a head fake before he can even look at the rim.
false,
go look up his catch and shoot shots.
Catch and Shoot: Any jump shot outside of 10 feet where a player possessed the ball for 2 seconds or less and took no dribbles
Carmelo Anthony took almost 5.8 catch and shoot 2 pointers a game last year shooting 46.3 %
Carmelo Anthony took 3.4 catch and shoot 3 pointers a game last year shooting a 43.8 %
That means he takes over 9 catch and shoot shots per game and shoots a really good percentage. Now imagine how many of those catch and shoot shots were covered. With LeBron he would shoot great percentages. He is a million times better shooter than Bosh and Wade. They would compliment each other perfectly.

Reports a couple days ago were that a couple teams were interested in Lin and they could pull off a trade if they had to.

and calderon and prigioni are both right up there in catch and shoot 3's as well. We would have unbelievable spacing.

Sprewell4Three wrote:Yup the same Melo that was demolished In the paint by Hibbert and West in the playoffs. Melo Is not a full time PF. He played PF full time this year and the team sucked. I can't remember the countless times I heard Knicks fans complain about Melo playing PF. Yet now I'm so posed to believe he's the perfect PF and is able to take this team to the promise land playing that position.
You're reading between lines that aren't there. Not that I'm all for Melo at the PF spot, but he most certainly did not play PF full time this past season. It was considerably less than the previous season, that's for certain.

More and more talk of Lebron leaving Miami to go back to Cleveland. If really leaves it'll be something for the record books. Who the hell leaves Miami for Cleveland?

Re: MeloDrama Part VI
Are people still forgetting that Anthony played in Denver for George Karl and one of the fastest paced offenses in the NBA? Anthony didn't dribble the clock out, he didn't hog the ball incessantly and he didn't take forever to shoot then. There is life before and outside of NY guys.
