Not that I saw it as a realistic option anyway but the Heat signing McRoberts and Granger pretty much rules out Melo to Miami right?

agreed, I think if we get under the apron and bring in Pau, Melo is coming.

I think Melo is just being told to hold off because we still don't know what his final #'s are going to look like. This all plays a big part of how much Melo is making this year and next for cap purposes

I hope you are right. a S&T could be the best scenario for the knicks, depending on what's coming back

My concern is that he's going to institute the "rhombus" offense which will run counter to the triangle.

Houston has 3 days after an offer sheet is signed.

I'm relatively certain that the second Parson signs an offer sheet, that figure becomes Houston's cap hold for him too.

They can sign a free agent with Parson at his tiny cap hold and then resign Parsons with his Bird Rights, but I don't believe if Parsons is signed to an offer sheet, the Rockets can sign a free agent and THEN match the offer sheet.

So Dallas would want to get him a sign an offer sheet by midnight the 10th.

Yeah I believe that's how it works. Cuban trying to smack Morey. Daring Morey to match and not be able to sign Bosh.

No reason to wait for anything if his decision is Lakers or Knicks.

Looks like both Knicks fans and Bulls fans are getting restless. The ones that spent a lot of time here going through every different permutation of everything anyway.

Cliff Levingston responded to a restless Bulls fan on the Bulls' board saying that the longer it takes to hear anything, the better it is for the Bulls because the path here isn't as clear. With NY or LA, he just signs (or commits to signing since the contracts can't actually be signed yet), done.

Of course, the other options are that Melo has his mind made up and he's just waiting for other dominoes to fall (like LeBron/Bosh) or he truly is still weighing his options. Sounds like it's all speculation right now.

If Melo wants Chicago, then I don't want him.

Melo is not a good GM. He was wrong about Lin, and he's wrong to think the Knicks are far behind Chicago (if he does think that). We're not. But it depends on him buying into a system and waiting another year for cap space.

If he'd rather go to Chicago, who wants this guy? He already doesn't trust passing the ball to his teammates, he brought that scourge JR Smith with him and thought Felton was going to do just fine. With all respect, his judgment on talent is bad and it shows. He also wanted the Knicks to draft that bum he was friends with (forgot name).

He either buys in to what Phil is doing or he doesn't. No more me-first players. So if he's hesitant because of our prospects, which he must be to hesitate on all that money, then just tell him bye bye. Go find another team. He can play in Chicago for 15M or LA or whatever. I wouldn't S&T him to Chicago either. Hell no.

I was referring to whether or not Dallas was pushing Parsons into making a verbal agreement by a certain time or date before moving onto someone else(Hayward, Deng, etc.)

But good info to know nevertheless.
